Finally ditched the Charge

I finally got rid of my charge and got the Droid Razr Maxx and honestly I do not regret it at all. The battery life is amazing and guess what...the GPS works! The Razr maxx is just designed better. In fact at the Verizon store they kind of giggled when I told them I had the droid charge and they said they actually recommend to customers not to get the Droid Charge. When have you ever heard that about a phone? Verizon and Samsung should be embarrassed for releasing the Charge and forcing customers to use it for 2 years.

I'm glad you found a phone you are happy with, and I'm sorry you had some bad experiences with this phone. It really stinks when you have to deal with a device that isn't to your liking. We all know there are lemons out there (some know this more than others), but some people are quite happy with devices that others have tons of issues with. It's all personal preference/choice (isn't that what android is all about?).

I did too and the Razr Maxx is a pretty awesome handset. I have the limited edition for employees. Don't know if it is any better than the regular Maxx or not, but it is the best handset I have had the pleasure of using and I don't have to work around the bugs like when using a Samsung handset.

I liked the Charge until the last update broke everything it was supposed to fix. Decided to give the Maxx a try and it is better than the Charge ever was. It is quick, very smooth and have yet to have any problem at all. I have had it less than a month but so far, it is far better than I expected.

I am not here to bash the Charge, I loved it as well, that is until the last update and I started having problems.

My Charge hasn't been too bad, when they brought us up to Gingerbread months ago it really changed this thing. The latest update FP1 was permanently rejected by me since I have rooted my phone for the sole purpose of debloating it.

My wife has had some issues with hers since FP1 was pushed to it, I may have to Flash hers back to EP4 and change the necessary things to keep FP1 from pushing again.

I have preordered the Samsung Galaxy S III which will be coming, hopefully in the next few weeks. So know I need to decide what to do w/ my beloved DROID Charge. I have absolutely loved this phone & really hate to see it go, but could use the extra cash I get from selling it on ebay to pay for my S3 ( as I am paying full retail for it ) I just can't decide what to do?!?!? I would keep it as a backup in case something goes wrong w/ my S3 & just have it around the house to play a game here & there. What should I do??

Keep as a backup so you don't have to pay for insurance, which is a complete ripoff.

To each their own. I don't know what Verizon or AT&T charge but Sprint is charging $11/month for TEP. That comes out to $264 for 2 years and then paying $200 deductible for "High end smartphones?" What a joke. I'm glad I am not w/Sprint anymore.

If you get insurance, get something like SquareTrade or Safeware.
