A Call To Arms (I want the notes widget on my LTEvo)

I love my LTEvo, as I'm sure you do. There is only two things I miss from my OG Evo: the notes and tasks widgets (I already got the old flashlight app from the hub).

I spent over an hour trying out a bunch of notes apps, and all of them left me wanting the simple functionality and good looks of the HTC notes widget. Someone came up with a flashable zip for the app, but no working widget.

If you feel the same as I do, I politely ask you to contact HTC and let them know that you want the notes widget on your LTEvo.

If you think I'm being silly and clinging to the past, I can accept that. I still want my notes widget though.

There is a built in Tasks Application on the HTC EVO 4G LTE. This was seriously missing from the EVO 4G. I been testing the phone out in various stores and there is a tasks widget. Are you looking in the proper place for widgets?

I'm using the tasks widget as a retirement right now, but it is not as convenient.

I believe I am looking in the right places. It isn't on the phone and is not offered on HTC hub or play store.

I found an apk on XDA, but it didn't work so hot and no widget.

Is this the notes widget you are thinking of?

(used to be available on the HTC Hub for the Evo 4G and other HTC phones)

Or are you talking about the other newer style Notes application that looks like something adapted from the HTC Flyer tablet?

I wish I could help out in some way.
Any word from HTC yet? Or did they just give you a canned message?

The old .apk is around, however installing it on the Evo LTE does not allow any functionality.

I'm not sure if they have, or will, update that Application/widget for Ice Cream Sandwich and Sense 4.0
They probably want to implement that new style notes application pictured above. The Evo 4G LTE even appears (speculating) to have some of the left over architecture for it. More specifically 'Notes Painter' and 'Pen Settings'.

Best bet would be to check other HTC Ice Cream Sandwich devices and see if any of them are able to access Notes on the Hub. Sense 3.6 devices with ICS may be able to work, however the way they implement widgets is completely different...

I just heard from them today. Their non-canned response:

"I will be happy to submit your feedback for review and consideration regarding the availability of this app to the new Evo 4G. It is also very nice of you and greatly appreciated that you have taken the time to let us know how much you have enjoyed the original Evo and now the newest addition to the Evo family!"
