Root Stuck in recovery

Guys,
I'm sorry if there is already an answer to this question that I just haven't found quickly, but I'm under a serious time crunch and thought I would ask the experts.

I made a stupid mistake. I was provisioning a bunch of phones for employees and performing a factory reset on them. One of the phones had been rooted and after the factory reset it rebooted into recovery. I can't seem to get it out of recovery... Everything I do, just reboots it right back to recovery.

Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

My younger brother has a Spectrum LG that is in a bootloop as well, He says his phone isn't rooted anymore, but that it loads in CWM. I suggested the boot loop fix zip,but he says his CWM isn't touch. He lives like 500 miles from me,so I really don't have much more than that to go on..I'm not sure why he wanted to unroot it in the first place. Thanks for all your help guys.

try downloading the bcwm boot loop fix zip form the original link in the all in one thread i believe. You will need another device or card reader for your computer to get it on your sd though. And how did you get suck in recovery? Button combo to enter? V6 update failed? Freeze or delete a system file?

Hey this worked:rock:. I had the same file from a different site but it was not working.. thanks again I was getting worried as this had happened with another phone and I had to trade it in b/c the card reader quite working in the phone

I installed the all in one root program 4 weeks ago from the other thread phone worked fine until i woke up this morning and it was mysteriously stuck in recovery....any thoughts on how this would occur.

I have what I believe a similar problem (although not sure I am too concerned about it). Ever since I have rooted, installed CWM touch recovery and flashed Broken Out (as soon as it came out), I have noticed that every time I do a "factory reset" or "Hard reset" or "user data wipe", I boot into CWM recovery. It appears that factory reset wipes out the operating system as well. I always keep my SD card handy and have copied the contents of it on my PC, so always have been able to flash Broken Out once I am in recovery and hence am not too concerned. But if I don't flash a ROM, my phone stays in recovery.

I am not sure this is normal since on all the other devices (non-android), when you do a factory reset (or hard reset) you boot back in to same ROM except you use all your user data.

Does the rooted phone have clockworkmod recovery if so flash this to get out of clockworkmod recovery http://db.tt/3ZCO6AQb

Thanks Egofury!!!!! Mine got struck in recovery mode. I tried a 'ExitRecovry.zip' from the CWM forum, It applied OK, but still came up in Recovery.

I slept all night with nightmares of Wipe/Factory Reset dancing in my head! HaHa! Last time I did that it took about 5 days of re-installing and doing Titanium Backup restores to get it mostly back to where I started!

'gbiggie' referred me to your post. I tried 'cwm_bootloop_fix.zip' and it worked like a charm.

Thanks you ever so much. I can breath again! :thumb:

Best Regards,

Help.

Your cwm_bootloop_fix.zip works great. My problem now is Verizon is sending me the OTA update about 5 times a day. Every time it fails, evidently I must have removed (rather than 'Froze' with TB) some piece of bloatware that the update wants to update. After the failure, my phone just sits in CWM and I miss alarms and my battery runs down because CWM puts the phone in a 'Stay Awake' condition.

I either need to find a list of all thge apps and processes that came on the phone so I can figure out which one(s) I am missing for the OTA or I need some way to remove CWM.

I would prefer to get the OTA update done and go on with my life, but I can't keep getting stuck in CWM 4-5 times a day (missing alarms and running my battery down.)

Any help is gratefully appreciated,
PepperHead

Two options.
Do a backup, run this http://androidforums.com/spectrum-a...-pure-v4-verizon-stock-only-cwm-recovery.html , then restore all your data once you take the V6 update. Or, if you want to wait for a V6 rom to come out, do this http://androidforums.com/spectrum-a...ck-cwm-because-your-phone-took-v6-update.html and do situation 3
