HELP! Keyboard issues in ONE X

I recently purchased the new HTC One X, and it has been great! One problem that is getting extremely frustrating: When I am in a text or whatsapp writing a message and I recieve a text (sms or mms) the keyboard minimizes without warning. It's as if my whole phone blinks for a second and resets and the keyboard isn't there until i click in the text box again.

HELP?!

Very occasionally, especially when typing into a 'quick reply' box on a forum, the auto-text box minimises to the top of the screen & is partially hidden. I have to scroll and faff around but rarely does it reappear to help me.
I also lose the passage of text being typed AND the minimised text is nowhere to be found.
These issues are on full websites though, not tapatalk, so maybe this is the issue.

May I suggest DLing Swype, I am about to.

Is there any software that will interface with the HTC one x so that you can compose SMS on computer and send through your phone?

...with my Motorola Raz3 ...you could download 'Mobile Phone Tools' and it allowed you to do everthing on your computer ...music, photos, SMS etc?

or ...can an external keyboard be plugged into the phone?

I find a keyboard quicker and the mobile phone keyboard is not much good if you have big fingers?
Cheers ...Rick

You can use Remote sms for this. You can connect WiFi to use it and I think also Bluetooth on the latest version.
Makes texting very fast.

My HTC One X suddenly restarted and now i cannot access my keyboard. In other words, when i tap the blank space to type out a msg, the keyboard does not show up. Ive restarted my phone about 3 times but i still face the same problem. Really frustrating as i cannot email, whatsapp, text msg anyone.

Has anyone faced this problem as well?

Does anyone know how to fix it?

Thanks

have you tried restarting since then or reopening the HTC keyboard. seems like the keyboard itself crashed and needs to restart.

That happens with me. I did what El_Presidente mentioned, I installed Swift Key 3 which is probably the best 3rd party keyboard application for Android (I've tried many). It's either SwiftKey 3 or JellyBean Keyboard (which is also an application you can find on Play Store); the only problem I have with 3rd party keyboard applications is they are kind of slow.. if you're a rapid typer like myself you'll have a hard time as there's a lag, if you know what I mean.
