[Verizon] Is JellyBean going to keep you away from the S3?

Is JellyBean going to be enough to keep you on the GNex and not switch to the S3?

What are the big advantages of JellyBean that is going to keep you on the GNex? I really haven't noticed anything that great about JB over ISC so far. ICS was fast and really don't see any speed difference in the two.

I am buying the S3 for the wife but already warned her that once JB and ROMS are available for it I am switching phones with her.

I been looking at the S3 as well. Have plenty of upgrades on my account. Just got JB put on my Gnex, so really haven't had time to play with it. But I am looking hard at getting the S3. Will head to one of the VZW stores and play with one and see how I like or dislike it first

Will definitively wait for user reviews first. So hard to choose between white and blue... Must see how the radios do compared to the Gnex.

I'll let you know. Wife is the guinea pig on this one....we're supposed to receive the SGS3 shortly via FedEx and I'll be doing some extensive testing between it and my GN as far as signal. That is, if I can pry it from her kung fu grip!

I have an upgrade available, but in my case, Jelly Bean definitely postponed my phone envy. Although my neighbor is getting his GS3 Monday, so if it gets solid 4G at my desk, I will be very tempted to jump ship, cause this crappy 3G connection is killing me.

I'm getting a GS3 because I wanted to burn my upgrade before VZW introduced their shared plans. I figured if I liked it, I'd keep it - if not, I'd sell it.

That said, this feels like a brand new phone. OP, if you haven't noticed a speed difference, there's something wrong. Unless the GS3 blows me away, I'm a big fan of the Nexus and may hold onto it.

Really, I have not noticed any speed difference between ICS and Jellybean. ICS is every bit as fast and responsive as Jellybean. JB does have a few new tweaks and features, but to me that's about it.

I really like my Nexus, but I simply HATE the radio in it, Samsugn/VZW should be made to recall the device and replace those crappy radios.

I bought a 3800 monster battery, so that took care of the bad battery life. But I have no way to improve the reception. That will be what stirs me to the S3 if it gets really good radio/reception reviews.

Please keep us updated on your testing and thoughts. Because like I said, if the radio is better I will probably move to the S3. Can't stand all these dropped and missed calls I get on my Nexus.

At this point, I don't care if the bootloader is locked or not, I just want the blame phone to work

Well I would have been willing to wait for JB if the SGS3 radio worked well. But now that Verizon has decided to force Samsung to lock the bootloader, I'm definitely keeping.my.nexus, and will be thinking hard about going to T-Mobile soon.

Something is awry with your setup then. JB is much faster than ICS in every way. Not that ICS is a slouch, but its very obvious to me.

I will! We missed FedEx delivery today ugh they usually show up between noon and 4 so we waited.....had to work and wife had to shop.... ??? Missed delivery around 4:30!

JB or not, the SGIII isn't tempting me at all.

I don't care about s-voice, and I already have a pop up play alternative.
Those were the only interesting things about it to me.

I'm not one that has to have the latest device.

Im confused, didn't the GN come with a locked bootloader and the first step of rooting is to unlock it? How is that different from the S3? The folks at XDA already found a way around it.

The GN was locked but not encrypted. So was simple to unlock. GS3 is locked AND encrypted.

I was going to preorder it but then Jellybean came out for the GNex so i'm content right now. I'll wait to hear some reviews especially about the new radios, hopefully they're beefed up.
