Secure notes app that syncs to PC?

I've read many of the existing threads here about different note apps (and tried many of them) but haven't had much luck with secure notes (password or PIN number protected) that can sync with the PC.

Evernote, OneNote and Springpad all sync to the PC, but don't seem to allow setting passwords for notes, at least, in a way that can be accessed by mobile.

What I want to be able to do is create a note that has, say, bank account information, and can be locked with a PIN number or a password, but can be synced to the PC. I like creating my notes on the PC, and accessing them by mobile.

I know there are Android-specific apps for setting passwords to notes, but they don't sync to PC.

Anybody found anything that does this?

You mean a password to open the note file itself? Or are you ok with just password protecting the note app? If you're ok with the latter, just get Seal and lock your note app.

Thanks, I installed Seal on my tablet, but it's not working. 8(

Will try it on my phone and see if it works there. (I read another review that it doesn't work on somebody's tablet, so not sure if that's standard.)

Everything went fine during install, but when I try to run any app that's been added to the list of protected apps, they just run. It never asks for a password or pattern.

I tried the free version of App Protector (pretty much the same from what I can see) and it works on the tablet. I'll try that for a while, it may be fine instead of needing to lock notes.

i use a password protected MS Word File with Strong Encryption and Documents To Go. the beauty is you can open this file on any device in the world with MS Word or Docs To Go. Docs To Go supports Office 2007+ Super Strong 128 Bit Encryption/Password.

i like the free-flow format and the open standard of an MS Word File. i don't like relying on some mom and pop locked black box proprietary closed format. and MS Word and Docs To Go is free if you already have it.

i then use Dropbox and simply dump this Word file in my Dropbox so it is available to me from any device anywhere in the world and it is always updated and in sync.

B-Folders app sounds close to what you want. Syncs notes to desktop version & has app security. Works for me.

Might check out LastPass Wallet. Look like it will do what you want.

Gnotes allows password-locking specific folders. It syncs to both gmail and gnotes.me.

I use LastPass on my PC's, and the Wallet app looks good, but it doesn't look like there's an Android version yet.

Didn't notice that. Apparently LastPass Wallet was developed so they could offer something free to try on iOS (which apparently do not allow free trials). Effectively the LastPass Wallet is really just an exclusive UI for the SecureNotes feature. You could just use LastPass (premium app or the website) itself.

I'm considering that. It occurred to me that I probably do want something that's cloud based, as I can access it from anywhere while traveling. I might find myself for example at a public library that doesn't allow software installations on their computers. (Which rules out any program that needs a desktop app to be installed for syncing.)

If it's browser based like LastPass, I can still get to it.
