I'd recommend joining the IRC chatroom and someone there can help troubleshoot fixing it a lot easier than on the forum. I'm not 100% sure what's causing your FC right now. I repeated the process from scratch on my phone and it worked fine.

Sorry to make ya'll be "testers" for my package though. :) lol... I don't run Windows so I couldn't test it beforehand, just had to proof read it, which I didn't do a 100% job of obviously! Thanks for bringing these issues up though, I've fixed everything in the actual package now.

FYI guys, I'm gonna be gone all weekend starting here in a few minutes... so if you need more help you can join the IRC chatroom. A lot of the people there are familiar with all this stuff, including my rom and everything.

http://androidforums.com/474954-post2.html

Instructions for IRC are in that post under #8.

Have a good weekend man, take a break and step away from the phone/computer for a weekend :)

I'm trying to run wireless tether and I'm getting an error... "Activity SU Request (in application Superuser permissions) in not responding"

Try uninstalling Wireless Tether, and installing 1.70 instead from here, in case you have the wrong version.

Also, before you even try that, open a Terminal Emulator (or download one from Market if you don't have one, open it up, and run the command:
su

See if it pops up and asks you for root permission. If it doesn't, reboot. If it doesn't, reflash.

If it does work when you type su in terminal emulator, but STILL won't work in wireless tether, you might have the wrong version. There is a 2.0pre8 version that's not meant for our phone, that, with some ROMs won't work, and with some, will work. Try this one:

Downloads - android-wifi-tether - Project Hosting on Google Code

Man, my battery is running at over 50 degrees C (120 F) while charging and running wifi tether for root. wtf is going on??? Crazy huh. thank god I have a spare battery. cuz i'm sure i just about cooked this one. been geocaching all day, and using google tracks while we were out on the 4 wheelers all day.. now my batt temps are REDIC while charging. wondering if wifi tether for root is taxing my set up??

Tethering drains a LOT of power, esp wifi tethering. Even with WIRED tethering, if you're using a ton of bandwidth, you have to be careful. After an hour or two of streaming Netflix, I have to take off my battery cover. Sometimes (I don't recommend this) I use a cold can of soda as a heat sync, set on top of my face-down Eris with the cover off.

Don't let it overheat. If it flashes alternate green/amber or green/red (I forget?) LED, then you're overheating, and you need to stop doing whatever you're doing right away!

I found in the EvilEris ROM, volume is handled a little differently. there seems to be a mod that increases the max volume on the phone.

Got a little concerned when i turned up the volume all the way and the sound got staticky, so i did a NAND backup, reflashed the official 2.1 and then checked volume levels. no distortion anymore.

once again, just inputting my 2 cents if people are thinking of flashing that rom.

I flashed with the eris_LP-0_1 package & love it but I'm having trouble locking the screen (I also flashed w/the patch)
Simple Lockscreen Patch ~!FOR ROOT!~
credits to the person who made it....not me:eek:

tested with the new ota 2.1, but should work with any 2.1 senseui builds

TO INSTALL:
1.PLACE ON SDCARD
2.BOOT INTO RECOVERY (VOL-UP + END(POWER))
3.INSTALL LOCKSCREEN-PATCH.ZIP
4.ENJOY

If you dont like it I have also included a revert.zip just follow the same instructions to revert

lockscreenpatch.zip
#I'm assuming that "Install" means to flash with the update package?

So pressing the [End Call] (red button) used to lock my screen, now I need to wait for the screensaver to activate before the lockscreen is enabled...any ideas? (I only flashed, didn't wipe data)

(I know it's a beta ROM and I took a risk by installing it but I'm just curious to know if I installed the lockscreen update properly or if I did something wrong?)

edit:
I have log files (aLogcat) if that might be helpful?
