Help Every Morning my Rezound Switches off WiFi and turns on Data Since ICS

I didn't see this in anyone else's issues with the new ICS update, but since I downloaded it, (just as the title says) every morning when I wake up my phone on its own has turned WiFi off and turned data on. Is this a setting I don't know about?

It's more of an annoyance since I have unlimited Data, but when that goes away something will have to be done.

I did do a factory reset after I installed ICS

BTW: While I'm asking questions. Is there any way to turn off how ICS automatically puts a new app icon on your screen when you download one?

Thanks

i have that same problem, its random usually, i will use my phone, put it down for 20 mins and go back to it and its on 4g or no data at all. other times i can leave it alone all day and go to it and its still on wifi without issue. its like the wifi goes to sleep even though i have it set not to.

When in wifi settings press menu, advanced, wifi sleep policy, never sleep.

In the stock ROM it is called "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" and you set it to Always, that might fix it but some people have noted that from 11pm-7am the Rezound goes into a sort of "deep sleep" mode and there doesn't seem to be a way around it since it also seems to disable auto-sync during this window, but strangely it doesn't seem to do it all the time.

I have everything setup how i always setup my phones. Before ICS it never did this, but since the leaks and official it keeps dropping randomly but comes back once i unlock the phone usually. its very odd. The first thing i do with any phone is disable wifi sleep, so i know its not that. tempted to install the global ruu, but im trying to wait for official version so i dont have to wipe my phone again. Ive done it like 4 times in the last like 2 months. Getting kinda sick of doing it

I'm wondering if it has something to do with Back Up Assistant plus. I noticed that my wifi would be turned off on the same mornings that BUA+ failed. I went in and changed the settings and it hasn't happened since. I just now tried to do a manual sync of BUA and it turned off my wifi again even though I've checked for it to use wifi or network.

Not likely, BUA+ might have something to do with it but mine does it and I have BUA+ disabled and mine does it... it has been noted in several forums that there is a "deep sleep" (for lack of better term) that the Rezound goes into from Midnight until around 7am under ICS, some people think this is a learned thing based on usage but we can't find any details on it and the source is too new that devs at XDA haven't gotten a handle on it.

I could have sworn I saw a setting that allowed you to put your phone to sleep for a given time period, but I looked through all the Rezound settings and did not see it. Perhaps I saw it on the Incredible 4G or Samsung Galaxy S3. So, maybe it is in the Hidden Settings mentioned by acejavelin.
Yup, the Rezound had those settings with Gingerbread, completely removed by HTC in ICS due to some early "wonkiness" and stability issues in early RUU's of ICS.

Thanks for the all the replies. I stopped receiving emails that there were posts in my thread, so I didn't think anyone else had posted.

As far as the Backup Assistant thing, I'm going to try to turn that off. I had not thought about that. I don't know that that is the answer, but since the upgrade to ICS every morning I'm on data and every morning I have a message that BUA+ has failed. It's worth a try.

Came to the forum tonight to search on issue with the battery heating up. I just can't take it anymore. Didn't do it for the first few months I had it.

Thanks again

I wound up having to do a factory reset in order to get my contacts to sync with my Google account. Once I did that WiFi stays on all night.

I didn't go so far as a factory reset...I just restart my phone when this happens. I believe it's a bug in the Wifi driver that's causing it to crash. Turning Wifi back on reloads the driver. If I restart, I can usually go a week or two before I have to restart it again (with same symptoms). If I don't restart, it happens every night.

Seems to happen to me more often when I connect to a 5GHz AP, BTW.

Again, this is not a bug... it is a "feature" of the ICS build for the Rezound, around Midnight it switches WiFi off and around 7:00am it switches WiFi back on as part of it's power management scheme. Guess HTC thinks everyone works days and sleeps at night. It is a known issue in the current build of ICS and the Global Mode RUU leak.
