Hi,

I thought I'd share how I've made my ZTE blade awesome with you guys, as it's taken a while and you might be interested.

Before you start:
1. Root your phone! There's instructions all over the place.
2. Get Link2SD
3. Use it to link all the default apps you can to SD to free up internal storage space, e.g. gmail, google play store, google search, etc.

Apps:
ZDbox - great way to monitor and control your phone's performance and apps, e.g. killing apps, mobile traffic limits, move apps to SD, memory availability.
Titanium Backup - Great for doing full system backups
Quick Settings - easy to turn on/off wifi, gps, rotation, airplane mode, etc
ES File Explorer - Great file manager
DW contacts - Nice contacts manager (Note this one can be stored on SD card if you don't want to root your phone!)
Pansi SMS - great SMS app (Note this one can be stored on SD card if you don't want to root your phone!)
Go Launcher - Really good home application
SlideIT Keyboard - Slide typing, the way forward, so much faster!

Other apps I like:
Sports Tracker - great for exercise, you can review your route and speed, time, etc on google maps afterwards. Loads of stats.
Viber - voip type thing for messaging and calling using your internet connection
Shazam - always useful if you hear a cool tune in an advert, film, cafe, etc.
OfficeSuite - view pdf, word, excel, etc on your phone
SMS Backup&Restore - This was useful, I haven't checked if Titanium renders this obsolete yet.
Spotify Premium - Just great

Things I'm missing:
As in another thread I posted, all my default apps settings are lost after power down, and quick settings doesn't auto start.
I'd love my contacts facebook profile pics to be shown in my contacts list and when I get calls. I've come close to getting this to work, but it's not quite there yet.
I want to try out an app to make it easier to connect to wifi networks that need browser log in.

I'll report back here on my findings if people find this useful.

The key is to root your phone and use link2sd. After that this phone is plenty good enough for almost all users.

Cheers,
Rob
