Selected contacts not syncing with facebook

Hi, I recently purchased an HTC Hero on Orange in the UK, and I'm loving it. Eagerly awaiting the firmware upgrade to smooth out the slight lag.

I was wondering if anyone had the following issue though. I've done a search and couldn't find anything quite the same.

I have a problem with selected contacts in People not syncing with facebook. The profile picture does not appear. Under Updates and events it either says "No updates or events" or "Updating". For the person's Albums tab it also says "No albums" under Facebook.

It is always the same contacts - I think just 4 out of about 30. It's been the same for a few days now. Obviously these are people I know have profile pictures and photo albums!

I have tried:

• Turning the phone off and on.
• Disconnecting and reconnecting to facebook in the settings.
• De-linking and then re-linking the contact to their facebook profile.
• Deleting and then re-adding the contact and then linking the new contact entry with the facebook profile.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts anyone might have.

I have the same problem as well for 3-4 of my contacts! Maybe it's to do with their privacy setting, but I'm not too sure!

This is a known issue and has been reported by quite a few people, myself included.
I used to have my updates set to every 2 hours but I changed this to every 24 hours and the problem rarely happens now (but it still does a little).
I think it's something to do with trying to sync when you have no data connection, it then gets confused and removes all the sync data rather than leaving it as it is.

SirGaz, I think that your issue is slightly different. HTC Customer Service responded as follows:

"This is not an issue with the phone, but the fact that these particular 4 contacts have set their privacy options in facebook not to allow outside applications access to their profile and photos.

"There is nothing you can do about it other than to convince these contacts to turn their provicy settings down a little. "

Yeah I thought it might've been to do with the privacy settings...

I have this problem with my bf profile. When i linked his profile to the contact it flashed that his account wasn't downloadable. My phone won't update his status' but does show his picture.

We even changed all his settings to make his profile public and re-linked it but was still coming up with not downloadable!!

I can't get anything from his profile on my phone except his thumnail!! I have to log on to a pc to see his profile, most annoying.
