Root HTC Evo Shift - Keeps Rebooting to hboot menu.

Phone Specs:

Android version: 2.3.3
HTC Sense version: 2.1

Phone has been rooted for about a year now. Clockwork mod is installed.

Phone was working fine with zero issues until this past weekend. I was camping, so I powered it off to save battery power. Next morning, I turn it on, and it goes into the hboot menu (white background). No, I wasn't holding down the volume button, and no, it isn't stuck.

Have tried removing battery, plugging it in, etc. Nothing changes it. Keeps booting to hboot menu. I can go into recovery, and use the Clockwork menu, and do backups / restore / factory reset, but nothing changes it. Can then get phone to boot up into "Safe Mode", but next time I power cycle it, it comes up on the hboot menu.

Any ideas why and how to fix it to go into normal mode? If I have to wipe and re-root that's fine.

Welcome to Android Forums!

If you can get to recovery, all you need to do is reflash the ROM or restore a nandroid backup. Have you done a nandroid backup to your current setup? Or do you have a zip file of your current ROM on your SD card?

Honestly, it has been so long since I rooted it, I don't recall. :) I'll have to look it up.

Just looked...I do have these on the SD card:

GingerBreadrom.zip
GingerBreadupdate.zip

com.modaco.visionaryplus.r14.apk
