Help Can't take screenshots

It's, obviously by the fourm, a LG Optimus Slider, and I use Virgin Mobile.
I've tried every way on the web that I can find. Home + back, and home + power, doesn't take screenshots, it opens a recent menu instead, which I found weird. I do not want to root my phone, so I've been trying to find a way to screenshot without doing that, but have been outa luck. So, can anyone tell me how to take a screenshot without rooting my phone?

You have root the phone. Rooting is easy and simple. Also rooting will free up your internal storage.

Not sure what you want to take screen shots of, but for web page screen shots, you can use Dolphin Browser with the Screen Cut add-on. No rooting needed.

Kastorsoft Screenshot works fine on my unrooted Optimus V. Not sure about the slider...
