I picked up an 8 gig micro SD for $24. Seemed like a good deal. I figure I will upgrade to 16 gigs, when they drop down under $50. Honestly, I plan to load music on it, and 2 or 4 gigs of music is fine, which leaves plenty of other room for toys.
i found a 4gig on amazon for like 8 bucks. i'm always sketchy when i see a good deal like that LOL i always thing i'm just gonna get a lil piece of cardboard or something...
Man i really wanted to go pickup a 16gb card, but it almost seems useless to me. i dont use the G1 for music or videos...only apps and some misc data like wallpapers and all. Seems like overkill to me.
I want one.......but probably won't go for a 16 yet. I have several 2gb cards and am ordering an 8gb from the link above. I would really like to have a 32, but will wait for prices to come down and make sure it will work in a G1...

Just curious if anyone knows, for certain, what throughput the microSD card slot supports? Meaning - will G1 users benefit from a Class 4 or Class 6 card, over the cheaper Class 2 counterparts? Obviously, faster is better... if, and only if, the device is poised to take advantage of it. If read/write speeds from the card aren't the bottleneck, then... ?
I got a Kingston SDC4/8GB 8GB Class 4 Micro Secure Digital High-Capacity Card (Black) for $22.39 from Amazon today. Don't plan to use much of it. Not sure what class 4 means. Maybe someone could explain?
Works fine. Just copied all three folders off old one to my Mac, then back onto new one. All is well.
Miss Spicy,
The manual doesn't explain how to access USB correctly, I found.
After I connect, I get a notification in top of screen. When I pull that down, click on it and choose MOUNT all works well.
Hope that helps...
