Help New and Help!

Hey everyone. I'm new to this group, so please bare with me as I learn my way around.

I have a ZTE Warp, it was used from a family member. She never had an issue with it. I purchased a "broken" warp, to get the glass screen off it, since hers was cracked... I have not rooted the phone....yet. These are my issues.... The phone has a section that does not respond to touch.. so that makes it a little annoying, but not unbearable, b/c I can rotate it and achieve my goal... the other issue is... the phone will periodically go spastic!!! It's like it's obsessed or something! It drives me bat s%$^ crazy! I have to remove the battery and let it reboot, and sometimes that doesn't correct the problem. Any help would be wonderfully appreciated... thanks so much!

apps will pop up on their own, the phone will randomly dial a number, I have the Go Launcher installed, and the phone will pop up the gestures app (or whatever it would be called) it will do all of this rather quickly, and randomly. While it is doing this, none of the softkeys will work, and it will result in my having to remove the battery to reset everything.

I'm not sure if this information will be useful, but I'm going to give it just in case.

Android Version 2.3.5 (tried to update, but it says it's up to date)
Baseband Version N860B01
Kernel Version 2.6.35.7
Build Number N860V1.0.0B08c
Hardware version c4tB

digitizer, is that not the glass I replaced? We ended up using other parts from the "broken" phone. (it was "broken", because it wouldn't hold a charge) we switched out mother boards, and the glass (digitizer?) It was working perfect, then it decided not to. :/

Except for the fact that you had dead areas on the screen...at least according to your op.

Yes, pretty sure it was a boost phone.. (isn't the warp only available for boost?) If it is the digitizer, could it be possible that it's a loose connection somehow? Just trying to think out loud... we had both phones taken apart... and like I said, used pieces of the phones to "rebuild" this one... both phones were working fine (except that the "broken" one wouldn't hold a charge)... even when we put it back together, it was fine... then decided to not work properly... I DID drop it from a chair, onto the grassy ground... not sure if that could jar anything loose or not. Maybe I could take it apart again, and just check all the connections. It's Christmas season, and honestly, even if a used warp was $20, I'd feel bad spending that on me, right now, instead of my children. (I'm a Mom, it's how we are wired) ... From things I have read on this forum, it seems that the Warp is rather problematic... even tho I DO LOVE IT... other than the seizures it seems to be having lately. :(

oh... I meant to ask too... Is it possible, that if there were a smudge on the underside of the glass, or even on the LCD, that it could cause the problem that I am having? Just thinking again... thanks y'all!

the warp is available in Canada too... and yes to the loose connexion and the smudge on the under side....could be a wide variety of issues most probable one being defective hardware...

I may have solved the issue. I took the phone apart, cleaned the backside of the digitizer and the LCD... made sure all connections were tight and secure... so far, other than the "dead" area, it seems to be behaving. I do have the LCD from the other phone, I may switch it out if it continues to be an issue.... keep your fingers crossed for me... Will update if it comes back. Thanks for all the advice/help. :)
