Coffee spilt on phone :'(

My son spilt my coffee on my android lucid phone this morning. Everything seems to be working except most of the screen is darker and there are blotches from where the coffee has gotten under the screen. Has anyone else had this happen? I have heard of the rice trick. I am trying that. I also heard of giving it an "alcohol bath" with rubbing alcohol. Does anyone have any other suggestion/ advice/ input? I would appreciate it! Thank you!

Coffee with milk? Sugar? It's probably going to dry to a sticky residue. Sounds like you need to get your screen opened / cleaned, which you may not want to do yourself. In terms of moisture, sounds like your phone is OK but you want to put it somewhere warm so the coffee can dry & be removed.

Other than what you already have done or about to do, I would suggest removing the battery and place the device in a warm place for a day or two.

I would suggest to leave it in rice for like a week. Leaving it for a day you will not see any results.

Do you put cream and sugar in your coffee? The rice trick is for water damage. Not coffee with sugar in it. Unfortunately, even if you do get rid of all the moisture, the sugar residue will continue to corrode the phone.
