I did the side-by-side on the metro site and it looks like everything is either the same or better then the Connect lmao!! I just dont understand why its so damn cheap unlike the Connect. but this just proves that the Connect will NOT get an update lmmmao!!

haha yeah I was doing that myself. Although getting a new phone would mean waiting til someone comes out with a root process for it -_- I just really can't stand having my phone clutter with all of the metro apps.

Too bad LG Connect is missing ICS because i really like this phone.I wonder if both phones have same dual core processor maybe not because one is LG and the other is ZTE reading the specs
on the Avid $149.00 is not a bad deal but if you already have the Connect i think is a waste of
money to buy it thats just my opinion. My phone is rooted and with custom rom i'm happy as hell
with it.Thanks for sharing papi.

This is a nice looking phone! It's about matched with the LG Connect, except for having 1/2 the on-board storage, and lacking auto focus camera that Connect has. But, uh.... NO GPS? REALLY? Is this a typo or something? (Look at the pros and cons about 1/2 way down the page) --> ZTE Avid 4G full specs

Hell, having ICS and same screen resolution as Connect is a MAJOR selling point for me, as is GPS hahaha... I never use my Connect camera so the lack of AF won't bother me. Also, how is the ZTE build quality?

MPCS says the Avid has S4 Processor :D That's a 1up over the Connect already!

Shortest time I've ever owned a phone was a zte had it for about a week, slid of my keyboard onto the carpet & had a crack in the LCD. ZTE & Huawei's build quality arent top notch but have any of you guys considered this new LG it's supposed to come out mid January

I think I'm personally done with LG hahaha. First LG was an Optimus M, which I still have running CM7, and my current is the Connect, which, after flashing #2 I'm a lot happier with now. Both phones out of the box were terrible, and after extensive flashing and constant F***ing with are now more tolerable, but not great. However, the Motion I bought for my wife has been a great phone, so great I have no reason to even root it. Yet, anyway... :D

Some Avid thoughts.

I handled a non-op model at a local store yesterday. It actually looks and feels very nice, not cheap at all even though it's screaming No Gorilla Glass the whole time.

I've watched a bunch of the side by side YouTubers with it and the Motion. For me, that's been enlightening.

In ALL the benchmark tests the Motion is POUNDING the Avid in results. The Motion is sitting there enjoying an after test smoke and a Mojito while the Avid is still huffing and puffing and saying I think I can, I think I can with steam pouring out of it's little phone ears....:p Also interesting that one tester says his benchmark readings for the Avid are swinging MUCH wider than usual sometime by a factor of 100%. I am no pooder expert but that has me wondering if the 512 meg RAM is having a hard time keeping up with the dual core processor. I found it VERY interesting that on the video frames per minute part of the tests, the Avid moves a lot like my single processor DX with the same 512 meg RAM. My DX is basically a fine phone but I do notice some micro-lag (?) with it sometimes. I am thinking the Motion is just going to end up being a much smoother running phone.

While the pixels say the Avid should be a nicer display, that ISN'T apparent in the Motion/Avid side by side YouTubers. In fact in one of them, the Avid has a nasty green/blue tinge to the colors and they were much more washed out than the Motion.

I suspect Metro will sell a bunch of the Avids to people who don't pay much attention to any specs other than screen size. It will probably work fine for most people unless they've had higher quality phones to compare them to.

I haven't seen anything to make me wish I'd gotten the Avid over the Motion except that missing .5" of screen.

Thanks for posting this as I was considering the Avid as my next phone. Don't laugh i currently run on Samsung Admire rooted Rom'd etc .. me and my girl have the same setup and it is a perfectly working phone. But I know it is way lacking power ram internal memory etc of anything out today. I have had them a year now and need to stay 100-150 range due to buying x2 factor I will have to do. Any other opinions about this phone out there?

Honestly in my opinion two Motions are a better deal. Mid level specs at a fraction of the cost. They are making strides over in the Motion section with a rom for it if that's your thing. This thing is underpowered but will be fine if you're just upgrading and don't care too much about specs.
