Root [ROM] KANAIDA - Shang Tsung 1 (ICS 4.0.4)

Whatever happened to this rom. I know alot of people donated money to this and its abandoned. This is bull if you ask me.

Nobody has abandoned it. Just haven't been on much. I formatted my main machine and replaced winblows with ubuntu, ready to let the compilers feel the pain again :)

And all of this magical money lol... did someone win the lottery that I didn't know about? :alberteinstein:

For those interested in setting up the android build environment in Ubuntu 12.10 x64, Finally I found an easy way to do it. It seems the android pages are a bit out of date because oracle wanted to be a douche and mess with some packages in repositories etc... so it was a pain to set up before.

I'm really getting tired of the fact that my girls $50 LG motion is better than my LG connect. It's got ICS, it's nice and smooth and battery lasts like 2 days. Hopefully when I finally figure this out, mine will be better. If the screen was a little bigger i'd dump this phone, but since I like hacking the crap out of things because I know I can eventually, i'll take this as motivation lol.

A working kernel?

Got a link?

The problem so far is i've been able to build some kernels, just can't get one to bootloop yet (that would mean it booted at least).
exactly!!!!!!!

on another note tho, I had Cm10 booting some what.... at least enough for adb to work and cap lights to come on when touched. ;)

Cool. That means we probably need to inject drivers... that are in the config of the ics code of the ls840 verizon.

Sent from my LG-MS840 using Tapatalk 2
well I actually didnt use the LG src for the kernel as it wont boot, just stuck at lg screen n then goes dark, no adb etc.

I added support for cayman (pulled from the 840 src) to the cm iproj kernel src, edited the defconfig from the spectrum to add cayman. I think its still missing display drivers in the kernel and possibly more stuff.

And nah, not abandoned you all, just hitting on stuff here and there when I hit walls on the esteem (seem to stay on the wall with it) to still feel productive. Help a few guys on the zte sequent n got them a almost fully functioning cm10. So hopefully if I can get some time to really devote to it I can get something booting fully on it.

Kinda makes me sad that I go over to the Mpcs section of the S3 and they have CM 10.1 nightlies already, and a stable CM10 for that phone that just came out in Oct, and the previous "flagship" has had such a lack of development on it..I'm getting myself an S3 in 2 or 3 weeks, so good luck to those who will continue the fight on with the connect :D

Probably going for the Spirit myself, I'm grown quite tired of carrying around a 1.5 lb patio block that runs on Gingerbread. I wish there was at least a port of CM7 for the Connect, anything ZVA is junk (at least on my handset it is).... I'll keep it, maybe, unless LDrifta wants it for his #2 work :D

Aw man, I would get a Spirit myself if I hadn't dropped so much on this Connect. It would definitely help Ldrifta with getting new things working on it. Good Luck with whatever phone choice you go with man.

This. Don't get me wrong though I'm totally appreciative for the devs here and all that they have brought to this device, I think its just time to move on. I really wanna jump on the Spirit, but that S3 is looking a lil better on the development, it's also a bad a$$ phone besides that. I don't even think the Spirit has root yet.

Which device are you calling the previous flagship for Metro??

The Esteem had/has plenty of development... just not a usable Cm yet.
