Once Verizon approves it on their website, it tends to take 5-10 days to start rolling out and it usually rolls out in increments. If you are rooted and/or unlocked, I would hold off on installing when it gets pushed in case it breaks things.
I just checked for the update in "about phone" and it showed up. Downloading the 150mb file now.
Updating now.....
Added:
Update complete and on 4.1.2. WOW! The performance is amazing! Just kidding I have not really noticed a real big performance increase since going from Cupcake to Gingerbread. All have been marginal baby steps since then. The real value add IMO is kernel/radio updates- assuming they are for the better.
I just checked for an update and there was one waiting for me. I am rooted(temp unroot with voodoo) but completely stock otherwise. The update was 150 mb and is currently installing. I have no idea what it is or what is included. But it is updating non the less.
Update:
After the install, it has a box saying "Android is Upgrading..." and says "Optimizing app 1 of 244"
Yeah! It appears to have fixed a serious lag problem I had with Swype loading for the first time after a reboot. T9 trace in the Samsung keyboard has been fixed as well. It did not work after the last ota.
Not much of an upgrade. I was hoping they would throw autocorrect back in there for the keyboard but it didn't happen. It says predictive text has been improved, but without auto correct using the stock keyboard sucks. I still decided to use my downloaded jelly bean 4.2.2 keyboard. Much better and has autocorrect.
Also, is this the update that is supposed to have the customizable toggles in the drop bar? That's really the only thing I want. I'm sick of how verizon set up the wifi toggle. It's so annoying.
I am noticing much better reception here at work. I was constantly getting 1X here and now it's 3g. Definitely helps with the battery drain. 1X was killing my phone so quick.

I'm just glad 4.1.x lets you kill the wifi switch in the notification panel. Every reboot first thing i do. it was too close to the clear, i hit it daily before we could stop it.
but This does just seem like a bug fix rather than an update.

Well.....mine is very noticeable. I watch my phone at work constantly fall to 1X and while my screen is on I watch the battery percentage drop. Since the update I watched as well and it never switched to 1X and the battery was fine. I don't know what they did in the update but whatever it was it fixed my poor reception at work. It's kind of hard to argue against it not going to 1X anymore
Each time I walk into the restrooms at work - NO SIGNAL at all. My employer is discouraging us from staying too long in there - fearing we won't be productive even if we are...producing....heh heh
