How does the Reverb compare to your old phone?

At first I didn't know if I was going to like it because I had to work out a couple of kinks, but now I love it! It's a great phone.

I am coming from The Motorola Triumph and also LG Optimus V.

This phone seems to be faster. I love all the extra space with the 32 gb card.

For $100 I'm happy!

This definitely blows the LG Op V away. Even though I was initially fond of it because it was my first smartphone, I was always making sacrifices with the Op V. I had to uninstall Facebook because it was just too slow and gunked up the phone, along with other apps that I really wanted on the phone but that it just couldn't handle. I was always keeping it as lean as humanly possible, always doing maintenance even though I was rooted and took out all the VMobile bloat.

I loaded up the Reverb yesterday when I got it and so far it's working really well.

I'd prefer to have it rooted so I can freeze the more unstable, bloated apps I like that don't need to be active all the time (most notoriously the Amazon Appstore app, which does the same to my dual core tablet). I know there's currently a root method, but there aren't any recoveries or roms available yet and I want to be cautious.

But I'm very satisfied with the Reverb.

Also coming from the LG Optimus V.
I was a little worryed about the single core when I looked at this phone.
after running it for the last few days, Im happy with it.
the LG was rooted with Backside rom, I could overclock to 748Mhz stable.
the Reverb is so much faster with no lag. I dont game with my phones, so I cant tell ya about that. I just wanted something to run my apps without lag. so far its done well.
going from a 3.2 to a 4.0 display, Im enjoying the extra acreage.
the only downfall I see right now is not being able to use the Link2SD app.
Hopefully we'll get a rom for this phone in the near future.
For 99 bucks, im not complaining.

The other halfs liking her phone as well, she comes over to ask a question, then disappers for a few more hours.
Merry Christmas, :D

Amen! I feel pretty much exactly the same way.

Me and the wife also graduated from the optimus, and although I also have a soft spot for the otpy (and IHO), the reverb is so much better.

The wife couldn't even imagine getting low-end games like 'tiny tower' running smoothly on the opty, but they work fine on the reverb. Even facebook seems to be more or less stable, although it lags a bit at times.

IMO, the reverb was a no-brainer upgrade (even losing the $25 plan), esp. at the $100 black friday price.

Im comming from the lg optimus elite and all I can say is that this phone is better is every single way. All we need is some custom roms and we will be all set :)

I had the elite as well. It started to give randomly freeze up and reboot on me. Did some research and settled on the Reverb. Went in to Bestbuy and had them price match it with vm's site price. Got it for 150. Happy with my phone so far:D

I had a virgin mobile blackberry and while it served it's purpose....it had nothing on this new Reverb! Browsing the internet is so much faster and more fun now. This is my first android phone and I am having a blast with it already after only a few days. I will be sure to share any experiences/tips i learn with everyone.

I just upgraded from the LG Optimus V and, so far, I really like my new Reverb. I have loaded a lot of apps that the Optimus couldn't handle....even FaceBook. The Optimus was CONSTANTLY giving me out of space errors. The only thing I don't like about my Reverb is the camera. I can't get it to take a good photo. I've messed around with settings, downloaded Camera Zoom FX (as suggested in another thread to add a stability setting), tired shot after shot after shot. All fuzzy. So frustrating. This is the one thing that is keeping me from loving this phone.

I have been using the Reverb for a couple of months now, came from the Opt V, and I am pleased with it.

I got into the habit of tweaking and playing with new Roms on the Opt V and currently there is only a small community developing for the Reverb, but it is growing.

I recommend this phone as a decent upgrade or starter depending on the case.

my LG Optimus V was a solid phone -- even though installing Harmonia ROM made it so I couldn't install apps -- but my new Reverb is LOADS better. I'm surprised with how much better it is.

So far I'm happy with stock ROMS and apps (though I have downloaded my own), though I imagine I will be rooting it before too long. And the 2GB phone space being meshed with the 4GB SDcard space into a single logical space is a little wierd to me.

I am totally envious that some of you paid $99 for it, though. I paid over $200 for mine.

gave this phone to my mom after getting my motorola triumph replaced at BB. i played it for a bit and it seems like wifi, gps, data and overall performance is good. although earlier today she told me that her phone call kept getting cut off. anyone else having this problem? ill chalk it up as either user error (my mom isn't really used to smartphones yet) or network outage. maybe she was accidentally hitting a button(?) or possibly the phone's screen was on (away from her face) and she might've suddenly press it against her cheek thus ending the call. hmmm i'll test it out myself i guess.

i decided not to root it as it's not mine and there's not much rom/developers (yet) for this phone.

while i cant really compare this phone to my old triumph, as i dont own this one... i could say that out of the box at least this one is fully working. the triumph had a plethora of issues - wifi, gps, data, camera, power button recessed after only weeks of using, etc etc. i had to try bunch of ROMS just to get it working for my needs. arghh!

Accidentally hanging up via cheek is one possibility. Another is that there's a setting where you can set it so pressing the power button on top disconnects the call. I don't believe it's set by default, but you may want to check it just in case, even if it wasn't the cause this time (under Settings > Accessibility).

I actually really like the option because it's a lot easier to feel for the button and disconnect right away before even pulling the phone away from my ear.
