So I got my email from the Mothership with my rebate tracking number on it and went to Metro.com to sniff around.
There's a Chat there you can do too.
The site says my stuff was received and was "scheduled for final processing". I wanted to be sure that everything from here on out was with Metro and that *Everything* I'd sent in was fine. So I rang the Chat bell.
There was some verbiage on the rebate form about either being activated BY or FOR 35 days after you originally activated the Rebate phone.
Apparently, they are actually checking that and That is the final determinant as to whether you get your prepaid Rebate Visa card or not. (And, obviously a good part of the Delay in sending Out the Rebate card...)
All my stuff sent in was fine. Chat lady said they'd wait to be sure I had my service (still) in 35 days from the date I activated Then send out my card.
So, it Does Look like they're going to check in case you think you can get the rebate without activating the phone.
I guess I'll use my Rebate card for a months "Free" Metro service And a decent dinner out somewhere.
