Don't let this little Rebate Plot Complication Bite you!

So I got my email from the Mothership with my rebate tracking number on it and went to Metro.com to sniff around.

There's a Chat there you can do too.

The site says my stuff was received and was "scheduled for final processing". I wanted to be sure that everything from here on out was with Metro and that *Everything* I'd sent in was fine. So I rang the Chat bell. :p

There was some verbiage on the rebate form about either being activated BY or FOR 35 days after you originally activated the Rebate phone.

Apparently, they are actually checking that and That is the final determinant as to whether you get your prepaid Rebate Visa card or not. (And, obviously a good part of the Delay in sending Out the Rebate card...)

All my stuff sent in was fine. Chat lady said they'd wait to be sure I had my service (still) in 35 days from the date I activated Then send out my card.

So, it Does Look like they're going to check in case you think you can get the rebate without activating the phone.

I guess I'll use my Rebate card for a months "Free" Metro service And a decent dinner out somewhere. :)

I just got a LG motion 2 weeks ago from wirefly and wanted to know if i could get a rebate even though im just upgrading to another phone? or is it just for new customers?

No you couldn't have.

The rebate for the Motion that just ended was the 2nd in the series of two rebates. The first one ended around 3/3 and was extended via the 2nd rebate form til the end of the month.

The first rebate worked for both new activates and upgrades. The second and most current one only for new line activates.

But don't feel bad. I knew about the 2 forms but not the changed language until someone corrected Me. :p

I think there are new Motion rebates out now but I haven't seen them and they won't be retoactive.
