Root [T-Mobile] just got my t-mobile s4

im about to root my phone now. if ever i want to unroot my phone. before doing the back up, after i hit the back up from twrp there is already 4 checked boxes, should i put a mark on all of the boxes? then swipe for back up? or just the 4 mark i need to back up?

which kernel is better to use? looks like the darkstalker kernel is very weak to me. always stay on one signal. any better kernel you can recommend? and how to install it?

If you ever want to unroot,

1 - Odin UVUAMDL stock rom. This will unroot you

and to get everything to say Official instead of Custom,

2 - Use CF-Auto-Root from the XDA thread. Just install it through PDA in Odin. (see his 2nd post for instructions) Now you're rooted with stock recovery so you can use Triangle Away.

3 - Use Triangle Away. Follow the directions exactly.

4 - After phone reboots, go back to stock recovery, do a factory reset and wipe cache partition.

Everything in Odin mode and in settings About Device should all say Official now.

Are you talking about doing a backup in TWRP? When I select backup there are only 3 boxes checked by default, Boot, System and Data. That's all you need to backup.

To wipe before you install a rom, you can read this post if you haven't already.

I've just been using the kernel in Darthstalker. I've been planning to use Ktoonsez's KT-SGS4 kernal but just haven't gotten around to it yet. It supposed to be good. You install a kernel in recovery just like any other zip file. Then wipe cache, wipe dalvik and fix permissions.

Yes it's OK. It won't hurt anything. It will just make your backup larger.

Not all phones show a triangle, but if you look in Odin download mode it will say custom instead of official and also is settings, about device, status, it will probably say custom for Device Status instead of official.

I don't know but that's not a bad thing. :D

Where does it easy official? Mine does in settings running darthstalker but it will say custom in Odin download mode.

It's under settings, about device, status, device status and is says official.
How come? Maybe i did something wrong when i root my phone? I'm also using darkstalker rom.

Get to Odin download mode just like you did when you installed twrp. Hold power button and volume down at the same time. At the next screen press volume up and you will be in Odin mode. To get out of it hold your power button until the phone shuts off.

Thanks. It says custom under binary system and the other one. how to activate flash player? i cant view videos. it says adoble flash player version 9 or higher.how to activate it?

Is there any list of bloatware that we can freeze?

Read this to get flash working. Use a browser like Boat Browser or Firefox.

Check this thread for apps to disable.
