Note: This was done at the spur of the moment, its past 3am, so yea this post is sparse on the details. If you cant figure it out, wait till someone who cares, or at least has the energy to translate for you.

I'm just going to give a summery as this isnt completely foolproof, so if someone with a greater mind or at least more awake time to deal with it can do so.

Basically what I did was Odin the Galaxy 1.6 rom, and pulled out the Camera(Because the Gallery is rolled up into this app)/Browser/Calender apps(I tried the Phone/Contacts(They are needed if you want to replace the dialer) apps but they dont work right and FC, I think it may have something to do with Advance Launcher)

In adb shell, I removed TouchWizBrowser, TouchWizCalendar, Camera, and PhotoShortcut and pushed Browser > TouchWizBrowser, Calender > TouchWizBrowser, and dropped in Camera.

This gives one the nicer looking photo gallery, and I think a nicer looking Calender and browser. Also note that with the stock messaging app installed, you cant send images directly from the camera app. Something I havent tried yet, is Handcent with this combo, as with the plain ol rom, it FC when it tries to resize an image.

The Phone & Contacts is tied into the Frameworks.jar, which is why i stopped messing around with it.... In order for them to work you need to change out the telephony.apk & I think Googlecontact.apk as well... But, the FC is no way part of AdvanceLauncher... I might give this another go when I get time..

I was pulling a late nighter on this so I couldn't really think anymore. But I'll play with swapping the telephony.apk. What I was doing was looking at apks with Astro to see what they loaded up. I mention Advance launcher because it would FC on me when I swapped the galaxy phone/contacts with the twiz ones(as well as the phone/contacts itself android.process.acore)

I did have a feeling about it being the Frameworks.jar because the one time I at least got the dialer to work, some of the text was invisible because it was black on black. Though there is no GoogleContact.apk, there is GoogleContactsProvider but I dont think that plays a role but just guessing.

Yea, I tried a few other things, but it probably is the frameworks.jar. System just goes all wonky if you push the Galaxy Phone.apk onto this rom and seems to perminaly mess it up. I had to odin back. I looked into hacking frameworks.jar but yikes, I'm not one for playing with decompiled object code. I can understand why you asked if anyone else could. But you were right, its not Advance Launcher, it was just reporting the error it saw as it tried to load up the dialer.

It was fun to try. I'm happy with what I've gotten so far.

I think you need Root Explorer to mod system files corectly from the phone, you can do it with Astro also but you cant set permission with Astro. Some system files need corect permissions to work.Try replacing phone.apk and settin permissions the same way they are set on original phone.apk with root explorer,or you can set permissions using terminal adb but i dont know how and its a pain in the a%$%
