How to get push notifications on standby?

Hi all, just got my RAZR HD MAXX and am loving it so far.

One thing I want to do is to have full texts show up on the standby/lock screen, like the iPhone 5 does. Sorry if this is basic stuff but I'm a newb to the RAZR world. Thanks for the help.

Handcent will do that. And it has many more options than the stock app.

I'm not sure about the built-in txt app (I don't use it), but if you get any of the other popular ones (handcent, Go SMS) it can do this. I'd go that route.

Get am App called SMS Pop-Up. It works with the stock app and pops up on your lock screen has some customizable features as well. I do not like third party SMS apps as they create all kinds of glitches in your texts. I have used this for more than a year and it works great.
