Delayed Text Messages

For the last couple of months there has been a 5-10 minute delay when I'm receiving a text. It tends to happen when the phone has been asleep for a while and the message would come in at 9:50 but it would be time stamped for 9:44. Any fix to this?!!! I had no such problems with my BB on the same network and location :-(

I've noticed that sometimes when my phone is asleep its the notification sound that is delayed. The phone might vibrate but it doesn't play the ringtone until I unlock my phone to view it. So its possible that if I don't notice my phone vibrating that it may take a few minutes for me to notice the text because the sound is delayed.

Howdy All ---
This could be much more than just a "phone issue".
I am gonna "hypothesize" a bit ----
When your phone is sleeping, the network knows it and does not (cannot?) send data to it. I notice that when I wake my phone, I then get my downloads including emails, messages, etc. I do not think the network does all of this instantly, but on a periodic basis (as in batch processing).

I notice that I see emails on my main computer (they are on the mail server) but they do not appear on my phone for up to 10 minutes after wakeup! It would appear that the system can introduce some significant delays just in the way it handles and distributes data. The point being it is probably not the fault of the phone, even with the phone connected (awake) to the system and ready to receive data.

Would be an interesting topic to discuss with Sprint for verification. :D

I know this is irrelevant but my extreme curiosity is to whether or not the ringer lag on our phone is network based or phone based..
