How to increase icon sizes?

I'm trying to setup an N4 for a person with low vision, and would like the home screen and application icons to be larger (e.g., 3 or 4 per row instead of 5 per row).

Can this be done with the standard settings, or do I need an app?

If an app is needed, which app is appropriate? Other than icon size, I don't think I need other features, unless certain apps have other features that are low-vision oriented.

You could use an alternative launcher? Nova has an option to increase icon sizes, not sure if you need the paid version for it though.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried the Nova free version, and also Gianticon, but settled on the pay version of Big Launcher -- which seems designed for low-vision use (and also for seniors).
