Just got a replacement phone, and the first thing I did was root after activating. Now it wants to do a system update (of course!) and it fails due to the custom recovery.

So I was wondering if someone could direct me to some zips that I could manually flash to update instead of taking the OTA ones?

The message for my current update says:

Update:System enhancement 14.65 MB

This new software contains the update ANdroid 4.0 (ICS)...

The software Information screen lists the following:

Android version

4.0.3

HTC Sense version

3.6

Software number

1.13.652.2 710RD

Thanks!

Are you s off, I think you need s off to update firmware manually.

You can do it the hard way
Running Ruu, and return to stock.
Update all updates
Then reroot.
If you are s on, you will not be able to use the ruu after you upgrade to latest.
So keep that in mind

You can do the easy way
Download a custom Rom that is sense based, ics. Make sure its compatible with your hboot.
Make a backup
Wipe and flash

You should really look into getting s off before anything. It's definitely not necessary to root, but if you want to flash anything, and fix it when its broke, get s off....
