Root [Verizon] phone talking to me

In the last few days, my phone has started talking to me ... announcing incoming emails, who is calling me etc. I can't find anything about this in the settings. I don't mind the call announcements, but I don't want to be woken at 0300 with an incoming email. Can I turn this off?

Could... Normally it won't activate itself, at least on my phone.
I'll let it activate via task whenever I connect to my Bluetooth head-unit...

Perhaps it was activated by accident in your case.
