Please Help: Cant sync Gmail, etc

Hi all,

Since yesterday, I can't sync Gmail, I cant actually download from the market (although I can initiate), and I cant open Google Talk (it opens for a split second then closes, no force quit or error messages at all). I have searched for a solution all morning. I have tried going to google and google storage in applications and clearing cache/data to no help. I even went back to a nandroid from 2 weeks ago, no help there either. The only thing I have done is accidently change my password online from a PC. I changed it back 5 minutes later to the original (which is the one the phone uses). I am using Fresh 2.0D. PS yes I wiped when I went back to an old nandroid backup...Yes my sync settings are correct....

Please help!!!

AFAIK, that requires defaulting the phone according to the removal instuctions upon trying to remove the account, which I am really not interested in doing....that said, since I have a nandroid backup, I guess I can try that real quick....Ill post results in 10 minutes...

Open to other suggestions while I try this please and thanks all...

As I expected, this did not work. It still states the following...Waiting for sync...Your email will appear shortly.

Yes/Yes

As far as I know, only certain google services dont work. From what I see, GMAIL/Talk/Market. From what I gather, gmail and market use talk to authenticate in some shape, form or fashion. Again, gmail wont sync, talk wont open, and market wont download. Its a real cluster**** and quite agitating...lol

Well, a fresh install of fresh 2.0d did the trick so some file must have been corrupted I can only assume... Thank God for Titanium Backup restored all my backed up apps and not much time lost. Thanks for your help.

Ehhh, I've always felt Titanium Backup was a waste of $ but to each their own..

Care to explain? I am using the free version so there is no money to waste. Second, it backsup all the programs and their settings. I can flash/wipe/change ROM's etc and simply go into titanium and click on install and it puts my program back with settings. Is there a better easier way? I used appmonster I think before but it didnt do the job like titanium does.

I had a similar issue a few weeks back. I don't have Fresh, I am running DC 2.07.2, however it might still work for you. Try changing the password from the pc again. Then try to sync your phone with google. It should tell you that there was authentication error and should give you the option to change the password. Change the password to the new one. After that you should not have issues. Hope this helps!

Talk about thinking outside the box...I should have tried that...I technically still can as I have a nandroid backup of the unsynchable image. I may just try that just for kicks today or tomorrow. Thanks for the tip

There's a version of TB that you pay for gives you many more options but, it's practically useless when the major things like apps/contacts are tied to your Google acct (assuming you save your contacts to Google).
