CAR bluetooth connection not automatic

I have a 2013 Optima and it automatically connected to my GNex when I flipped on (enabled) bluetooth on the phone. With the LG, it is not autoconnecting. I have to go into the car's phone menu and manually connect the LG. Note: I don't have to re "pair" it...it's there...just have to "connect" it. Removed the Gnex pairing before I started with the G2, so there shouldn't have been a problem there. Any ideas on what I'm missing? thx
 
I've had no issues with my G2 connecting with my 2013 Ford F150 Sync system - I would completely delete the G2 from the Optima's system and then re add/re-pair it from scratch
 
You might want to try resetting all the bluetooth settings in your car. I had to do this in my VW to fix one issue; which was not seeing my call history. Resetting the bluetooth settings in the car fixed it.
 
My vehicle uses Lincoln/Ford sync and this is what I've found: If I establish a BT connection and never shut it off, on the phone, it will automatically reconnect every time. Now, If I turn off BT after leaving my vehicle, it will not automatically reconnect; instead, I have to hit the connect button on my Lincoln Sync and it take a second or two to reconnect. Not a big deal, just have to remember to hit the connect button before driving off, since I turn off BT to conserve battery...my Nokia 920 automatically reconnected, but I'm not using it anymore and have to adjust accordingly.
 
Thanks! I think that is what is happening. I turn of BT to conserve battery too (though you hardly have to conserve battery with this phone!). My GNEX however, would automatically reconnect even if I had turned off BT while away from the vehicle. I can get used to 'reconnecting'..not a big deal..

My 2008 Honda Accord hands free link bluetooth has gone through 4 different cellphones with a few problems but very usable. My new LG G2 is terrific but isn't working with HFL BT. I pair the phone, BT is great while the car is running. When the car is turned off for 5+ seconds, the HFL BT drops the G2 from the paired list. Tried clearing the HFL BT. Nothing works. Any suggestions? Thanks.
 
Look at your manual for the radio / car and see if there's a reset somewhere. Or there may be a menu option.

I performed a radio reset on my SONY BT Stereo. It made things much more reliable when using my LG Spectrum, but there are times I have to cycle BT on my SONY and it usually connects.

Slightly inconvenient. Maybe happens 10% of the time that it won't auto-connect.
 
Does anyone know how to disable the lg music app from automatically playing when the phone connects to honda bluetooth handsfree? I can't find any autoplay settings in the app but when my phone connects it starts playing on its own before I can start Pandora. Any help is appreciated!
 
Yeah but I didn't want to totally disable it. I did to most of the other bloat apps. I was hoping there was another way like a check box I missed somewhere. Thanks!

Thank you for the response. I will try the radio reset and hope for the best. I only have a few days to keep the phone or change to a different one but the G2 is my first choice.

When i had issues when the phone was new i just remove it from the car and removed the car from the phone. Let the phone find the car again and pair them. That fixed my issue. I couldn't advance the songs with the steering buttons.

I have paired and unpaired the phone many times, I've spoken to Hands Free Link for a few hours, spoken to the honda dealer, spoken to the verizon person and nobody is helpful. The advice has been to get a new car or change to a different phone or don't use the hands free link. My 2008 accord hands free link software cannot be updated.

I'm probably switching to the Samsung galaxy note 2 tonight. Does anyone know if the samsung galaxy note 3 works with hands free link?

In your case, it's probably the car and not your phone. Getting a GN3 could very well do the same thing and/or different problems. Remember that with each new phone, it's getting newer versions of bluetooth with more capabilities. Your car is stuck at the bluetooth technology in 2008.

My 2009 370Z had bluetooth but did very little. My now 2013 Golf R has way more features and functions and operates way better than my Z.
 
I concur. It may well turn out that the other phone is even WORSE with the poster's system. Best if the person could try before buying, but probably not practical.

One could try the device in someone else's vehicle...
