does an app like that exist ?

Hi there!

I apologize for my english.... I'm Italian..

I read a lot about titanium backup app if you have rooted your device, or helium if you didn't..

I wonder if inside android world does exist an application who does the same of the "ghost" for the Pc world...

i mean to "clone" a pc ( I mean the operating system, all parameters , audio and video drivers, all installed softwares, ect...)

for example: I own an Htc one X , 4.2 android version, buzz launcher, and lots of apps...

suppose Tomorrow I purchase a Samsung S4 device, a part of the important backup of my One x, is there an app which allows me to "clone" all parameters and apps of my one X and "paste" them ( as an image ) into Samsung S4??

I apologize if my question is a little bit " stupid" but I 'd really love if there is an app like that!!

can you imagine how much time you can SAVE by shifting to a new device?? :D

Thanks in advance for your answers...

have a nice day you guys!

Petrah is right.

It would be very easy to brick your device by restoring the wrong driver/kernel model to and incompatible device. You can take a nandroid from one phone to another provided they are the same model, but even that can have issues if they aren't identical.

What I do is to back up my apps and settings to Google (menu>settings>backup & reset ) and when I login to a new device using my Google account the apps are reinstalled and *some* settings are restored. You will have to setup your screens again, which can be a pain if you've got a high customized layout, but it's a once and done thing and you'll end up with a better operating device.

If you are concerned about losing data or game levels, you can back up the apps/games individually using Titanium and restore them to the new device.

Hi there! :)

That really wouldn't be a good idea actually, since some apps and/or app settings are device specific. It would cause a ton of problems. :(

On that note, software like Symantec/Norton Ghost has the same restrictions - a Ghosted image is only valid for the exact same hardware configuration that it was made on. You can't Ghost your laptop and use that to image your desktop - just like you can't nandroid a Galaxy S4 and use that to restore an HTC One.
