Help Nexus 7 (2013) Screen Problems

So I just got a Nexus 7 (2012).
(Since it's my first post I can't put a link, but it's the Nexus 7 32GB by ASUS on amazon)

It came running Jelly Bean. I had a few problems with the touch screen, it would "ghost touch"(touch where my fingers weren't close to), it would respond VERY slowly, soemtimes my fngeres weren't even on the screen and it would still push things. So I looked into it. Some people say it's a hardware problem and they fixed it by popping off he back and tightening the screws since they weren't in properly. Other said to just update it to 4.4. Well I don't wanna pop my back off since that might void my warranty so I was wonderning how I can get the 4.4 Update(IF it's possible with Jally Bean since all im seeing is for Kit Kat)
Unless anyone knwos any other ways to fix this.

The update is for kit kat. Go to settings about device update and check. It should of automatically downloaded the update the first time you booted it up however. Try to update / see if it is on kit kat. Then do a factory reset in settings -reset (or something like that). Hopefully that will fix it. If not just send it back to amazon for a replacement. Its very simple they give you a label to print out and you just tape up the box. You can even select the option to have ups pick it up at your house! Couldn't be simpler really. Amazon is really great in that way. Good luck.

Well the person who had gotten it for me has just informed me it was a 2012.

But I checked for the update, it says it's fully up to date at 4.2. Before I do a factory reset i'll see if Ican ge ta few more replies and maybe fix it before I get ready for the send back.

Maybe exchange it for a 2013 n7? Its only $199 right now on amazon, but that wont last long, they ussually sell out in a day or two at that price.

Well I think the problem is the screws because when I notice tit messing up, I give it a sligw squeeze on the edges and it seems to work fine.

Yea but the 2013 version is having loads of touch screen problems. I returned mine because of them and bought a 2012 version which was working perfectly, until the KOT49H update which has now caused touch screen problems with it too.

It's going back on Monday.

The best think you can do is just try and update and if that doesn't fix it, send it back. I returned my defective device to Best Buy.
