[Verizon] Worse performance after going back to stock?

So I rooted my GNex a few weeks ago and attempted to flash a rom. The flashing attempt didn't go as well as planned (I think I had trouble finding the right files in the bootloader mode...this whole process was way more labor intensive than rooting my old Eris!), so I decided to quit before I totally bricked the phone and go back to stock. I used the method listed here on the forum to un-root, and it worked.

Well, it kinda worked. Before I decided to start messing with the phone, it was laggy and only randomly rebooted itself once every 2-3 months or so. After the failed root adventure yet successful restoration to stock 4.2.2, I'm getting increased lag, touchscreen unresponsiveness, random reboots almost every day, and decreased battery performance.

I just need to hold out until February when my VZW contract is up, but does anyone have any suggestions on what to try to "fix" the phone, or do I just need to prepare for 2 more months of nonsense? I'd really rather not try and root it again - one SD card wipe was more than enough for me.

I triple checked to be sure I was using the correct files, and downloaded them directly from the Google developers site. The build number in my phone settings matches the listing on the site: JDQ39.

The phone rebooted itself after I flashed the files. The reboot took a while (maybe 10 minutes or so), but everything seemed fine when it was done.

Well even performing a factory reset after everything is done is usually a good idea if you just want to be sure everything is correct.

x2. I.E., yeah what he said. A factory data reset can resolve a myriad of problems.

I would definitely do a factory reset(wipe data and cache) from recovery(custom or stock). Also, what method or tool did you use to unlock and root? I would recommend using wugfresh nexus root toolkit. It is super easy and it walks you through each step.

Also, if you plan to flash a custom rom in the future, I would stick to 4.2.2 roms as they will be the most stable since 4.2.2 was the last official release for this phone.

I had wugs install the 4.2.2 stock ROM and it never ran so poorly even with a back up, wipe, reset. Running cyanogenmod's 4.4.2 now and omg what a difference! no more lag or up to 3x/day reboots. Had something of an issue tethering, but that has resolved itself as well.
