Assume it's a dodgy site and not Kaspersky as my link claimed?

Hard to say, without actually clicking on it. The page title reported back is that of Kaspersky, but the domain it links to is owned by a Russian ad agency. It could be something very dodgy, or it could be that the ad agency registers your clickthrough and ten redirects you to the real kaspersky site.

Either way, it's not cool. Making people scared they have a virus.

It's clearly in the Google ad net work as now seeing on other sites.

Easy to get rid on the phone, a PITA on a desktop. :(

If you're using Chrome, you can hit shift + esc to open up the browser's own task manager. If you've got a tab that won't let you close it without clicking on a popup, you can kill just that tab from the task manager instead.
