Root Tamasek's unofficial CM11 v50

Still going good.
I love when android proves me wrong lol.
A week ago i thought stock and Xposed was the best. Then i put Carbon rom on my phone and enabled ART then i put Tamasek's on my tab and did the same and imo its much better than stock. The grouper loves ART and combined with Franco kernel feels like a 2014 device :)
I just dont know how im gona explain to the Xposed community i moderate that i dont have it on any of my devices!

I'd be trying this since your recommendation is so positive.
Can't get the entire download however.
I'm tethering my desk top PC from my phone, and on the attempt, received the " unexpected error" message and the download failed at 38MB.
I suspect it's Boost mobile 3G being fickle, it's LOW than HIGH showing in the bar's.
Sometimes it's great, and than there's all the other times ....
Thanks for sharing.

Want me to upload the rom? I had trouble downloading it too so a buddy put it on a file share site for me.

Heres a Box link mate https://app.box.com/s/lxu8nzate7yv2imj14c3

Yea, that would be better for me. XDA (hopto.org) is sometimes a tricky download site, (maybe easier if your registered?) But I've been able to in the past by being persistant.

I'm going to grab it from your upload to box.

Thanks a lot for thinking of that funky. :)

I finally pulled it down after 10:pM last night.

Not sure, but I live in a densely populated city, and the time that there's heavy bandwidth being used, MAY mean I can't get my share.

That Easy Downloader Pro sounds like a good idea, I' going to look into it.

As far as gapps, I've been trying to get the mini size off the sight. I've had no luck finishing a download. Am trying again now.

May just use the other gapps, I've got. That's 202MB but it's full, not mini, as I had hoped. (bigger than the ROM, that's nut's).

Thanks.

Well, that would be preferable to this hugeness.

I really like this ROM, and it's got so many personalization's in settings. Haven't the time to dig into it right now, but I'm looking forward to looking around later.

One difference to note, couldn't load the gapps until after rebooting, than they loaded/bloated easily.

Just got to say though, your the MAN for going first and finding another great ROM for this tablet.

Well done! Thanks a lot for the help too.

Lol i know im such a traitor but if any device needs art its the n7 and the kk roms finally have enough features.
Its in Developer Options "change run time".
First boot takes forever so dont panic lol. Games are smoother and scrolling a list or web page isnt so "choppy" :)
Franco Kernel is better than the kernel in that rom imo

I wondered, if Franco should be installed also. Glad to hear it's working for you. I'll give it a try on this.

By the way, I"m using MultiRom still. and this cm11 is now where Umbutu was. That just wouldn't work out, too glitchy for me. And, I had re-installed it after an M.R. upgrade SUGGESTED in the log,(as I read it) that it had fixed an issue of finding data.

All along, that ROM couldn't find, the partition or the SD Card, with user data, (pix/music everything), and that was a surprise/disappointment.
Anyway, so, I'm already on Franko, version 65? And 77, with the other two ROM's, and Multi-Rom, specifically is able to share Kernel (or not).

It's all good.

[ROM][CM11][4.4.2][FEB26] temasek's UNOFFICIAL Build - V50 [Grouper/Tilapia] - xda-developers

Flashed it today and loving it so far. Im running it in ART with Franco Kernel. Everything is fast and slick and theres just enough features that i can live without Xposed :)
Ill update when i know how the battery life is

Battery life seems excellent so far :) i guess thats down to ART. havent had any problems yet.

Thanks for the recommendation/review. I've been playing more on my Nexus 5 for a while and keeping my 3g Nexus 7 on rooted stock, but I've been getting itchy to try out some new stuff. I had been waiting for there to be a better selection of 4.4.2 ROMs for the Nexus 7. Going to install Multi-ROM so I ca try this and SlimROM and see what I like better compared to stock. I'll let you know.

Nice one man. Glad you like it
Did you try Slim?

I did. For some reason, I was underwhelmed. I say "for some reason" because I wasn't able to come up with a good reason. Mostly, it didn't seem that different than stock with Nova and thus didn't seem worth moving to over stock, rooted kitkat. The tweaks Tamasek and CM offers were much richer, more like I'm used to with Dirty Unicorns on my N5. :)

As everyone else is, I cleaned house, and did a fresh re-install,of tamasecks unofficial, Franko, and AIO gapps 1.4.4.2.BUILD.3 and set up ART.

I also went to Nova launcher, (why not?), but can't figure that out at all. Where's the app or settings or anything?

ONE noticed issue right away, ...Tap-a-talk Force Closed repeatedly.

Otherwise slip-sliding on the butter smoothness.
