Hi,

I have a S4 i9500, and in my country we do not have 4G LTE.

I am going to be in America for a few months and want to get a sim card package that has 4G LTE data capabilities, will my phone be able to utilize 4G?

From what I know the i9500 "does not officially" support 4G LTE, would I need to flash a specific modem or something?

Or will I not have any problems?

The International, octa core, GT-i9500 does not even possess the hardware for LTE as opposed to the International, quad core, GT-i9505, which does. See the specifications table in #1.2 of 23 Galaxy S4 models - know yours?

What is this then?

Exynos 5 Octa chip supports all 20 LTE bands, confirms Samsung

"Samsung took to Twitter, asserting that Exynos 5 Octa plays well with all 20 LTE bands, indicating it might be paired with a multiband radio in the GT-I9500 version of the Galaxy S4 that delivered some record benchmarks recently."

The operative word there is, "might"!

The Exynos octa core variants for the South Korean market, E300K, E300L, E300S, are LTE compatible for their specific South Korean networks. The International, GT-i9500 does not have this facility built in.
