Root [Boost Mobile] Working ROMS/MODS/KERNELS/MODEMS/ECT for the Boost S3

Ok........ This section is getting stale.

Come on people....... Let's get this section active again!

I would appreciate members posting which roms you've tried and whether or not they're worth flashing.

I've tried both conquest and wicked-x. Both are running great.

Any of you out they're with the 4.4.2 bootloader running any aosp based roms? Ls, carbon, cm11,etc., that are running well?

Thanks,
wb7

Oh gee thanks wb. You just HAD to post that RIGHT after mine didn't ya.....I can take a hint, as if my self confidence was bad enough. .... thanks. ;) :D

I kid I kid. Was that exciting enough?

New wicked x drop right and did any try it I want to hear what's new

I'm running omni rom and my signal is really good it even has a bias towards cdma ehrpd actually 3g network not 1x my phone barely ever connects to 3g on other roms it use to do it on tw but not anymore it's either 4G or 1x which is why my call quality is so bad and signal
On this rom call quality isn't bad either and it connects to 4G and stays on it only if the signal is better than my current one. It'll connect to 4G then switch back to 3g if it isn't
Which is kinda cool if you ask me

I was going to flash conquest but man its a battle lol these animations on wicked x are pretty awesome I like everything about it expect battery life my battery seems to be getting a pretty modest drain but I'll just flash comadose I might just run this for a while

When flashing Comadose with the newest version of Conquest I wasn't able to get the entropy file Bilgerryan made to stick. Everytime I would place in in the init.d folder and reboot the phone would never get past the Conquest boot screen. Sooooo, I just flashed Comadose and left it be. I didn't add anything extra. It's running great too.

Just thought I'd give you a heads up if you try to flash Ryan's 50 or 75% entropy fix. If you do try and it works then great. If not don;t sweat it. Just run Comadose as is. ;)

Okay, well after all that, I basically am forced to replace the phone itself. and because best buy wanted to be fussy, I had to get another S3.

On the upside, this one somehow seems to actually have hotspot functionality retained, which I am depressingly too used to see be stripped out of their ROMs for Boost Mobile. Depressingly, it appears this one is knoxed out of the factory. :( It's on 4.3 and already nagging to update to KitKat.

So, what are my options to unlock? And am I going to have to deal with that aggravating "WARRANTY VOID" siren crap on startup every single time?

I recently restored my stock mk5 rom and noticed the hot spot feature is still in the settings. Thinking that was weird I restored my original TWRP MG2 4.1.2 backup from the day I rooted my phone and the hotspot is still showing up in the settings. It doesn't work because it says I have to subscribe to the service but I found it interesting that no matter what I do it's showing up in my settings. I even tried a factory reset.

I just wanted to share this. Maybe Boost will be allowing us to pay for Wi-Fi tethering soon? I'd like to know why it's showing up in my settings now though. Maybe it happened after the latest PRL update? Maybe it's from me flashing different kernels? Maybe my phone is just super cool? I'm leaning towards the latter heh.

Flash the WiFi hotspot fix over at XDA and it will unlock it.

I have a general question. I have LS rom installed. I am just wondering why when I come within range of a wifi network, it automatically turns off the data connection. This is a little frustrating when I don't want to connect to the wifi network. I know I can just turn wifi off, but just wondering why this does it automatically. I have the always on scanning of wifi turned off. Thanks for the feedback.

It's just the way the phone is bro. It's gonna connect to a WiFi network if WiFi is turned on and the network has already been added to the phone's list. I guess it's the phone's attempt to save using your carrier data by switching to WiFi.

No problem bro. Glad I could help.

I use the ADW EX launcher. It has a lot of themes for it. Many of the other launcher themes will work on ADW too.

Since you are running Carbon, you have access to all of the AOSP themes. Just type in CM11 themes in the Play store. That will give you a lot of choices. XDA also has a theme repository. I would check it out if I were you.

One thing to keep in mind when applying themes is that many will need you to apply the stock theme before the new theme. Some may also require that you change the dpi. I usually don't go to the trouble. I guess it just depends on how badly you want to run the theme. Another thing to keep in mind is that some themes require a cache and Dalvik wipe before they will apply too.

Many of the themes on Play have instructions on applying the theme. Just take a moment to read over the info.
