Food for Thought- LED notification on BH2

Its a pity that BH2 was built without LED notification. LED can be really useful when you don't want to turn your phone on to check if you've gotten any messages.

While we don't have a LED blinker, we do have LED outlining the D-Pad. I know nothing about programming, but would it be able to program the D-Pad LED to be used as a LED notification status? :D

Interesting idea... I never thought of that. I'm like you... know nothing about programming these types of things. You might consider posting this question to the people at XDA even though they don't have a specific BH2 subforum.

I don't think the ring around the ok button would be feasible. If you notice when it lights up, all the other buttons light up as well. My assumption is that it's one huge backlight, lighting up the entire button grid ... but I could be wrong.

shawn is right. it appears that they are not individual lights unfortunately. :( it would have to be all of them or none.

yeah it is a bummer, but IMO it is not really that bad because the light being kept on until the phone is unlocked or until you check your msg would chew up some battery (even though it is a small LED light) just sitting in your pocket or on the counter. the LED on the behold 2 is not like your typical LED notification (tiny light in upper corner of phone) because its one big light covering all the hard buttons. it is true that LED's only use small amounts of power, but they do use power none the less and i know we all cherish our battery life.
