Root Need a Favor - Gallery File Names and Locations

I've accidentally messed up my KitKat stock Gallery files. I have the apk and odex files, but I'm missing another file somewhere. I need help finding out which one(s).

Can someone please search their phone for any files containing the name "gallery3d" and/or "com.sec.android.gallery3d" and list what they find and where they are located? I know there are multiple. I think you might need root to browse every folder, but I'm not 100% sure.

I can get you that info, as soon as I root this thing. Having problems downloading the files needed to root.

But in all honesty, the gallery on this phone leaves alot to be desired. There must be better choices on playstore. This gallery is horrible.

Yeah, I agree. I just like that I can set the lockscreen wallpaper, and I haven't been able to find another app that allows me to choose. I know it can be done, because Spotify changes the lockscreen when playing.

Also, I've lost the ability to attach pictures to text messages directly from the message. I can go into my File Explorer and do it that way, but not directly from the messaging app.

I don't know if you saw my message in the other thread, but I'd be willing to help you root. I'm at a computer most of the day today. Let me know by PM if you need help.

I did, thanks for the offer. I might take you up on it. Seems like most root instructions are for root savvy individuals,... and not for us newbies. Seems to be logical steps missing or not fully explained.

I could build a PC from scratch, but cellphones are fairly new territory for me. Can't quite get my head around their simplicity, which is weird. Cause PC's are much more complicated. Not that I can code or write scripts, but I know how to build, troubleshoot and optimize,
