My F6 says "LGMS395" under the battery. I saw the earlier posts of those who used the support tool to flash back to a previous firmware. It looked to me like their phones were being flashed with a T-mobile firmware. I am familiar with how to do that if it will not brick my phone. Heaven knows I flashed my Motion back to stock more times than I care to admit.

There's your problem. The ms395 is the f60 which is the successor to the f6. Unfortunately there is no way to root the f60 at this time.

Anyone working on this? I can be patient but I am not resourceful enough to strike out on my own. I'll just sit tight and watch the threads. It is a great phone and a good price, maybe demand will grow.

Thanks for the quick reply. My son is a HALO fiend and wants to grow up to be Masterchief.

Lol, I'm a big fan of a HALO myself but I'm sure you can tell.

The F60 is still very new so there's no telling whether someone will find root for it. One click root apps won't work on almost every new phone. An app being able to root your phone is a big security problem cause someone with bad intentions could make an app that roots your phone without your knowledge and then steals your personal information and maybe even permanently brick your phone. With this in mind, new phones are made increasingly more difficult to root in hopes of being more secure.

Great point there. I began my android journey with the humble Huawei Ascend. It was a challenge just getting it to play angry birds LOL. Being the "tweaker" that I am I began instinctively to see if I could make it work better with its cramped memory and storage. Rooting and "Rom-ing" new hobbies. Next phone was Samsung (I forget the model) better equipment but still lacking. I broke the micro-sub port and couldn't charge it any more. I bought an LG Motion and had my first "good" android. I ran it stock for a long time but got into ran issues so I rooted it finally and had a good working phone for almost three years. Bored this last weekend I bricked it trying to install "lollipop". Metro had this phone so I picked it up.
So far, I see no real need to root this one. No lag and so far no force closes. Memory management seems good. Hate the bloatware, but I don't have to run it. If someone does root this phone, I might, but otherwise I think this was a good but for me.

I knw we are out of subject... Of threat... But I got one F60 for wife... I'm working on root. N recovery... No promises ... I'll keep y@ in the loop... Now back to subject...

Good phone, well worth the price for the features (for my needs). If you can get a root working, fantastic, if not I'm still better off than with the motion 4g.

I usually connect to Internet via Wifi. However when my internet was recently down I tried connecting using mobile data. Here is the message I get after opening Chrome:
You are offline. Wifi and mobile data are turned off. I turned off Wifi but the Mobile data toggle switch was set to ON in Settings. The Limit mobile data usage is not checked.
I rooted and have been on Tmobile network (actually Ultra) for some time now. I can get data fine as long as I am on Wifi.
Is this a known issue or am I just missing something with this phone?

Used to have a problem like that with my motion4g. Sometimes data would not pickup after turning off Wi-Fi. When that happened I would open Gmail and force new headers to download. It often helped but I am not sure that is your problem. Might post that in one of the other threads l. ;)

what's up with successor phones having downgraded hardware.
The f60 has lower resolution screen, and camera can't record 1080p.

Same with the cheapest nokia phones. The 2nd generation traded quad core cpu for downgraded other stuff.

F6 Root
Hi! I am new to the forum and rooting.
On my LG f6, I went to: towelroot.com and clicked on the A symbol and installed the app.
After 30 minutes and endless searching of all my apps and downloads, nothing whatsoever shows up that says, "Make it Rain".
What did I do wrong?

Quick follow up:
Also searched for app called towelroot with no joy.

Final follow up:
Solved. Finally found the file TR.apk on my SD card. Installed.

Got it to work. I have an unlocked TMobile Optimus phone and the APN was still set to TM. Got the APN settings for ultra.me (even though uses TM network) and now phone data is working!

Way cool. My phone is actually the F60 (minor upgrade depending on who you ask) and there is no working root yet, but I can be patient. It is solid but I want to get rid of bloatware n etc. Thanks for the update.
