Towelroot, kingo, stump, do not work... I trying to get stock kdz to try other ones... But will not take the change until then... Mr.. Sammy is working along with us to find the kdz. Or tot to get it going... We need somebody with LG B2B account to find it.
 
here is How its Done - Simple. U Need
(Drivers)
1: LGUnitedMobileDriver_S4981MAN38AP22_ML_WHQL_Ver_3. 8.1(0)_2.2

I have made a zip with everything you will need

Step 1.) Enable Developer Options by tapping build number Settings> About Phone> Software Information
until you are presented with "You are now a developer"
In Developer Options enable USB Debugging
(Enable PTP for debugging to work) as opposed to MTP or Simple Charging

Step 2.) Open a command prompt in the(UNZIPPED root folder) copy and paste the commands one by one

adb.exe push lg_root.sh /data/local/tmp/

adb.exe push busybox /data/local/tmp/

adb.exe push UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip /data/local/tmp/
Step 3.) Put your device in download mode
(while powered off hold volume up and plug in usb until download mode is shown)

In command prompt in the (UNZIPPED root folder)run the below command
(To find which COM port your device is under open device manager and click ports and your device port is listed under the drop down menu)

Send_Command.exe \\.\COM5

Step 4.) After running this command on the correct COM port you will be presented with a root shell # symbol

(In the root shell execute the below command via copy+paste)

sh /data/local/tmp/lg_root.sh dummy 1 /data/local/tmp/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip /data/local/tmp/busybox

You should see something happening and not a return of a blank command. Once it's finished pull the battery and boot up your device is rooted
After that download Root Checker Basic from the Playstore and check root and Enjoy, I'm passing this Info on from another source, I am not taking credit. Credit I guess goes to

This root method works on every LG device to date and many are going to be questioning where it came from so you also need to include the link like I did in my original post so they can take a look at the original guide and know it's origin. You could also change the thread to LG root method for some devices or some sort since it has worked on every device so far even the G3 and various other ones

Hey glad you're trying to help. :)

Just like to point out that you shouldn't hijack someone else's thread that already has a guide for this purpose. A new thread would've been better.

Also the guide in the the first post is far easier for the noobies as all you have to do is install a one click root app and supersu from the play store. No command prompt needed or pulling of battery.
 
As far as the f6 goes towelroot is definitely a thousand times more simple and doesn't present a risk of bricking because of a typo.

However if the above mentioned root method will work on the new f60 which more than a few people have been posting questions about here on the f6 forums, this would be a really good find and would be deserving of its own thread in a new optimus f60 forum.

Maybe someone with some programming skills could automate this root method for other lg devices that towelroot doesn't work with?

Not needed for the F6, but wow. If I understand this correctly, we can get an unrestricted shell in the download mode for a LG phone that has this mode. Very interesting news. Thanks for brining it to my attention.
 
I rooted my Optimus f6 an when I try to download any app it says insufficient memory but when I go to my settings it tells me I still have lots of storage left can anyone help me plz

When you're free internal storage space gets down to about 200 megabytes or so you will start seeing these errors because the system needs to keep a certain amount of memory free in order to function properly. If you want to get more space for apps you will need to use warranty voider's SD hack or link2sd.
 
I'm new to rooting and i just rooted my f6 and now i dont know what to do. I know this is a newb-ish question but i'm honestly confused.

Ok ill get you a link for the sd hack but first things first. Have you rooted your f6 yet? You will need to root it and install TWRP recovery so that you can make a backup and because you need it for the sd hack.
 
Im sorry im new too all this is it at all possible for you to post all the links for me if not its totally ok

download SuperSU from the play store
and... you are rooted!


Recovery

Install the new TWRP recovery apk made by hroark13 and send him some love... boot into Recovery using Gametheory's app in the playstore
