Hey gentlemen, I have clockworkmod installed, what button-combination do I use to enter it? Thanks
There is none. You need to get into it from Flashify by pressing the "Reboot recovery" option.

You should use TWRP because if you press and hold on the power and volume down then release the buttons once the phone vibrates and push on them again you will get fact reset. Just say yes to all and it will boot into TWRP and it won't wipe.

rcunningham thanks for the reply - basically you're saying that twrp is preferable because it can be entered by pressing keys at start whereas cwm cannot?
also which rom would you recommend? i have to do some traveling in a couple weeks so i need to get this phone up and running stably before that time comes.
thanks

Yes TWRP is better to use. And as for ROMs, I have used all and made one of them so you can use any of th them. You can find a list of ROMs on the LG Ultimate 2 Recovery Tool thread. I reccomend stock at the current time but once I get time I would recommend the G3 ROM (Yes I made it but I don't want to advertise to much) because it will continue to get updates for the next 6 month's where as stock and the UltaLolli ROM won't get any more updates. Thoose are just my thoughts and ideas. Here is the page with all the ROMs: http://androidforums.com/index.php?threads/919560/
