My music woes solved!

Okay so I'm finally very happy with my music situation. In my opinion, nothing compares to iTunes on my desktop, and I've tried many other options. So here's my cure...

TuneSync (for iTunes) in the app store.
This will actually do as it says, sync to your iTunes library. Very clean, connects to your computer via wifi and syncs any and all of your iTunes contents. The free version will allow 20 songs/day sync, or for just a couple dollars, unlimited. I've currently competed 5 gig to my sdcard. FINALLY!

bTunes Music Player in the app store.
Operates similar to the iPod. Much cleaner. It also DOWNLOADS ARTWORK, even the artwork missing in your original iTunes on your computer.

Many other benefits which I cannot think of, just read the info on the files. Hopefully you have the same experience as me

I've downloaded both, and am currently syncing my iTunes library from my Macbook over my wireless connection.

Isn't it ironic that an iPhone/iPod Touch cannot do that. Thanks!

I was planning on selling my Touch when I got this phone, but my 3 year old has laid claim to it, so it will be sticking around.

Thanks for this! I still need to import my ipod touch set-up to my incredible. Do I still need to convert any m4p files? Btunes won't read those, right?

I didn't have to do any extra converting. This is virtually a plug-n-play kinda setup. Really nice. Day two of running this, no issues.

You can also import your iTunes podcasts. I tried this this morning. I'm still very pleased with this combination.

I'm assuming you have some purchased itunes music that pre-dates the elimination of DRM? I know everything you buy now comes unprotected, but I still have music from the .m4p days. I think there's a way to convert these without having to burn them to a CD and re-encode, but most of my search turned up paid apps.

I'm having trouble with Tunesync as well. It insists that port 9090 is in use on my laptop but it isn't.

This might be a dumb question, but can bTunes see the onboard memory? I realize most market apps cannot.

itunes cant handle my massive music library. I mean it can load and play everything but it runs like poop on my quad core 4-gig win7 machine.

Foobar is the best music player I have ever found. It does everything itunes can do and much more. It also isn't a resource hog like itunes

The major downside to foobar is it is a "geek" software, meaning you gotta know what you are doing to customize it right, or just download other people configurations.

I used a app called "media monkey" that great it would sync just about any device.

I haven't tried it with my droid yet though.

It would handle extremely large libraries also.( sizes that would kill WMP and iTunes)

TuneSync sounds similar to DoubleTwist. Have to check it out and see what its like.

Correct. Only Apple-licensed players can read m4p files. You'll need to convert/transcode them in order to have them work on your Inc. Another option would be to pay to have them upgraded to itunes plus.

Does TuneSync keep the playlists intact on the phone? I've used doubletwist and it will sync my playlists, but on the phone I just end up with a collection of unorganized music. I'd like to be able to sync a playlist and have the music remain in the playlist.

So, does TuneSync keep the music in the playlists on the phone (after syncing) such that bTunes can see the playlists, and play music from them?

I just purchased bTunes, and I like the interface, however I'd like it to read my phone storage since all of my music is in there. I only have a 2GB SD card, so I keep my music in the on board memory.

deal killer for me.

8gb onboard memory is nice, and far more than I need for apps and Android. I plan on keeping at least 6gb of it for storing music and movies, so my media player needs to be able to see it.

I am using the stock music player and like it fine

tune wiki seems to be able to see onboard storage, I think?
