Maybe this will clear things up:

I am apparently the only person that frequents this website that thinks 'climate change' is nonexistent and all the proposed actions therefrom are farcical. I am probably not the the only denier at this website, just the only one stupid enough to proclaim it. I only proclaim it to kill time – there's nothing I or anyone here can actually do but throw links at each other.

In real my life, all I know is downtowns full of deniers, so this place is kind of a refreshing change of pace.

What I cannot understand is if the believers outnumber the deniers 97 to 3, shouldn't the deniers already be vanquished, as also-rans of the past?

why are there still deniers? I don't know.. there is always in every group.. someone that has to go against the flow.
or refuse to accept due to any number of reasons. I will reframe giving what I think is the reason to keep the peace.

but let me give you a little story of my life.. it was in 5th grade..
one of my teachers were talking about how the Sun revolves around the earth.
I pointed how that differs from pictures and things I have read.
She gave me a demerit for talking back to her.

It works both ways. Take the POTUS's recent speech in the Phillipines right after the Paris terrorist attack. He took the time to talk about his real enemy, the GOP, instead of it being ISIS. He definitely speaks more harshly against the GOP than Radical Islam. This is the man who was going to bring unity to this country, yeah, only if you agree with him.

I'm not picking a side here, just pointing out a fact. President Obama was in Paris espousing his position that Climate Change is a greater threat than ISIS. Disagreeing with those statements and the person making them is certainly in the spirit of the thread. Again, no position on the debate, just making sure we are all playing by the same rules.

Nothing has changed, left/right division just amplifies and recedes over time. I remember this all the way back to the fifties and I'm sure we can find it a lot further back than that. Right now it happens to be turned up about as far as it can get. It's just what happens when we're free to disagree. Hooray for that.

For the sake of this argument.. lets pretend that we all agree GW is real.

Terrorist is a killing now.. is happening around the world. People are dying.
in a world of 8 Billion or so? it is a small percentage that will die from these idiot extremists?
yeah.. less than 1 percent? less than .1% (outside their small country)
way less!

if GW is left unchecked.. and the average global temp goes up 2 degree Celsius...
how many will die? more than 10%.. maybe way higher. all our lives and the way we live will drastically change.

how is Global Warming related to Terrorist? I am going out on a limb and put my 2 cents out there.

Terrorist are angry and mean. Why? I guess there are many reasons but part of it is...
their lives suck.. in a poor country .. with little resources.. and war.. and hunger.. and low education.
they see their lives and ours.. they get jealous of our life style. they get angry. the lock on us as a reason for their situation.
they need to blame someone! it aint their fault... must be us.

if Global Warming gets worse...
we will use our resources to stay cool.. get food and medicine.. AS BEST WE CAN.
that is still a whole lot better than them.. and the divide will get larger!
their situation will get worse and worse..
they will get angrier... more of them will get angrier.
that will bread more jealousy...
which will bread more potential terrorist..
in the end.. there will be more terrorists.

GW did not create terrorists..
it create an environment that causes extremist to grow.

fixing GW will not get rid of terrorists..
there will always be people that are jealous of others.
there will always be idiots.. and angry people.

thinking about those countries .. that have oil as their Biggest or ONLY export commodity.

if Global Warming is to be fixed.. part of the solution will MOST likely deal with fossil fuel consumption.
it will be great reduced over the next few decades. this will also greatly affect the region of Terrorist home lands.

unless they can change their dependence on fossil fuel exports ... it will not be a good situation over there.
