Issue/problem with MetroPCS music unlimited

Hi Androidforums, is anyone else experiencing an issue with music unlimited, whenever they use up their data high speed data, music services such as spotify and iheartradio seem to stall as well? I am currently on the $40 dollar plan, and have a phone that I used prior with T-Mobile. T-Mobiles music freedom worked perfectly on this device when I had it, however I can't seem to figure out the issue with Metro. I've called at least six times in the past week, had my serviced refreshed twice, as well as uninstalled and hard reset my device.

Has anyone else experienced this issue, or know any way to correct it?

Thanks!

I would think that once you're throttled for the month, that's it until the next billing cycle starts. Music Unlimited just means that streaming music from the listed apps won't count towards your data limit, but you'll still be throttled after you do hit the limit and the throttling won't distinguish between streaming and other data.
Well, I had the same service on tmobile called Music Freedom, and even when I exceeded my included data and became throttled, my music streaming apps weren't effected at all, and I could use them just the same throttled or not.

Music streaming shouldn't be throttled after you reach your data limit:

Will my music streaming be slowed to 2G speeds after reaching a certain data limit?
No. Music Unlimited is just that, the freedom to stream all of the music you want to your smartphone without affecting your 4G LTE data bucket while you are on our blazing fast network. If you reach your 4G LTE data limit through other means your on-network data will be slowed to 2G speeds but music streaming through included services will not be slowed down.

I would have them check your account as it seems you are missing the Music Unlimited identifier. The only other option I can see (thanks to Kate's link) would be if you are using your phone as a hotspot to tether to a different device which is then streaming the music on the apps you mentioned.

Can you let us know what phone you are using and when you signed up with Metro? If possible, call Metro first to confirm the identifier/rate code/whatever they call it, is activated on your line.

If they are no help on the phone, hit them up on Twitter or Facebook. I have seen their responses being faster and more friendly through their social media accounts. Good luck!

Thanks for the response confed. The device's that I'm using are a T-mobile Iphone 6, and Galaxy Note 2. The issue arises on both devices while playing music normally through the spotify or iheartradio app, not tethering/wifi hotspot. I will definitely try your suggestion, thanks!
