Comparing same photo taken with S7, Nikon D7100 & P600 SuperZoom

How about posting some pics of comparison with different cameras?
Today I shot the same flower with the S7 Edge, Nikon D7100 & Nikon P600 SuperZoom.

The S7 Edge seems to hold it's own... I think I'll leave my Nikon D7100 wide angle lens at home and just leave the Nikkor 80-400mm lens on the Nikon D7100 and use the S7 Edge for the wide angle shots.

So... no one has a second camera to compare pics? I have two... Nikon D7100 & Nikon P600 SuperZoom.
So, I'm never without a camera... with the S7 Edge it will be the famed "The best camera is the one you have with you." as I don't pack the other two camera's that much. Use to take the SuperZoom alot, but don't as much as the S7 Edge does a pretty good job at most pics... just not the long shots.

how much sharpening did you apply to these images? (To me) they all look way over sharpened. I have a Canon SX50 HS...a 12mp 50x optical zoom bridge cam. It's a large camera in today's world but not as large as a dSLR. I won't go to the dSLR category because of the size, weight and expense of the necessary added lenses etc. I love the pictures my S7 takes but a a 100% crop shows smudges where my Canon doesn't. The S7 over sharpens too (imo). Over saturates too but I don't mind that as much. I like my images a little punchy :) My SX50 images look soft (even after post processing and applying USM) after using my S7 exclusively for a month. But like you, it's a case of "the best camera is the one you have with you". I never have taken my SX50 with me wherever I go. My phone DOES go with me wherever I go and the S7 is more than adequate for 90% of my shots. If I'm out and see a picture I'd like to have but it requires a super zoom camera, oh well, I wouldn't have gotten it anyway because more than likely I wouldn't have my super zoom with me. Maybe some day, you'll be able to catch THIS (at 25 ft) with a cell phone :D

Soooo, ask me how ridiculous I feel! <lol> Wish we had the variety of hummers you do. Especially the dark pink ones. I've taken some pics of hummers with my Speedlite flash attachment and love how much more vibrate the colors are. My hat is off to the king of hummingbirds photog!
About sharpening...do you often use sharpening in post processing? For the most part I stay away from it and use USM.

Well, most photo's can use some sharpening. Some more than others. I will normally only crop and sharpen around 10-15% with CS6 unsharp mask. And yeah, to bring out the color and stop the wing action of hummers, you need to use a flash...

The Nikon D600 shot is lighter, softer, a tad out of focus than the S7 one?

Well, the out of focus isn't the camera's fault. Haha. I'll check tonight to see what, if any, changes I made to the photo. Honestly though, with the issues I was having with my D600 (user error for the most part), most of my S7's photos came out way better on the fly. I had to do some major LR work to get my D600 photos to look decent.

My Nikon D7100 works real well... love it.
