My S Pen just exploded !!

Was just holding the S Pen and suddenly it just exploded LOL

The little spring inside the pen just shot out.

I was able to put the pen back together but should I notify Verizon? I pay for phone insurance, i am afraid to stick the S Pen in the event it comes apart again and it gets stuck inside the phone

If they'll replace it free of charge, yes, otherwise, it might be better to just grab one from Amazon for $20.
I'd give Samsung a call as well, they may take care of it themselves.

FWIW, I had a wall adapter for my Note4 burn up before the one year warranty.
T-Mobile replaced it free of charge, but, I had to pay the shipping. It was $7,so,I accepted the offer.
Who knows, a visit to a VZW store may prove just as good, maybe better.

Please keep us updated on your outcome.

Lol what a nightmare!!! I got the Note5 September 11, 2015.

I called Verizon and they said that I had to call Samsung. My phone still under the 1 year warranty. Even tho I pay insurance for my phone every month, that doesn't cover incidents like this, only theft, water damaged, etc.

So i called Samsung and i was on the phone for 2 hours!!! The young man at Samsung was new, his 4th day on the job and he didn't know anything.

I tried to keep my cool, he had issues with the system, would put me on hold, took the information incorrectly, a comedy of errors, I even spoke to his supervisor and all she did was apologize......urgggghhh

I gave up after 2 hours and I will call back tomorrow

Oh by the way he wanted me to send in my phone for repairs!!! I said NO I only need the SPen. He was clueless [emoji20]

I bet that Amazon deal for $20 is looking real good right about now....... ;)
The Samsung Rep is reading a script of FAQ's & canned responses, no thought processes involved whatsoever.
I'm sure they're coached to stick to it & real individually tailored help is frowned upon.
Principle is one thing, but, your time is just as valuable.........

yeah man, he was curtious and even asked me if i was alright LOL

i would order the Amazon SPen but they told me that the EMEI number on the phone must be paired with the SPen to
work properly....

That's a new one on me,sounds like B.S., but, believe it or not, I've actually been known to be wrong once or twice... ;) :D
I'd try that out w/a demo somewhere (Best Buy/carrier store).
