I tried to recover my phone and SD card after it got wiped with my laptop it didn't work.. but during the process it's roots my ZTE z988 cricket phone it's called Dr. Fone. Here's the link................ Mmmmmm https://drfone.wondershare.com/android-data-recovery.html?pro=app
I'm Calling You Out On This Statement.. And This Link..
I went up and down that list in the ZTE section.. and not only did I not see your ZTE Grand Max X2 listed.. but I seen nothing under the ZTE section supporting Marshmellow 6.0.1.. which is what your device is running..

I ask you sir.. before anyone Blindly spends $29.97 at this website trying to obtain root access....

Show Proof.. and Prove.. Me.. Wrong..
Thank You.

Lol where is my comment xD

It was removed by another mod...

In fact, I'm heavily leaning towards splitting-off the various posts from this this thread that do not directly relate to rooting this device. If this happens, you guys will likely see a "donate device" thread and some place for all of the other posts.

I've been trying to not be too strict, but I'm sure that new folks that visit this thread are a bit confused.

Stay tuned and I'll post links to any new threads I make as a result of this "restructuring" like we did for the tethering posts.

you've been trying to "not" for so long but it isn't your fault. I've been following this thread since day one and it's out of hand now. please remove all irrelevant posts. And Messi, I PM'd you in regards of donating, please get back to me.

I see some potentional in the plug-ins from total commander but you would still most likely need root to perform some of the actions total commander's plugins need to find root to begin with wouldn't you? (I am not a reverse engineer, just asking questions here) I think the plugin that allows you to execute java code and a few others would be helpful perhaps but I am still wondering whether root would be needed to begin with to capture root. I am about to install this and see what I can figure out.

Ok so i think I found a way to flash a custom ROM or stock rom idk....but you guys can try just keep me updated and let me know if it works......

Step one: open settings and click about phone.

Step two:click on the build version six times or until it says access to developer options.

Step three:hit the back button and you will see a new option (developer options) in your setting menu

Step four:Click OEM unlocker to unlock bootloader

Hopefully a stock rom or previous rom can be flashed.....hope this helps guys
