Can't move any apps to sd card

I have a Motorola G7 Power. It has 32 GB of internal storage. I bought a 128 SD card. First I formatted it as phone storage. After doing this, I could move apps to the SD card. But what was weird is if I went into a file manager, it couldn't see the SD card. It didn't recognize the space at all. Also the camera app didn't allow me to save pictures to it. I just reformatted the SD card as external storage. Now the camera app allows me to save pictures to it and I can see the storage in a file manager as a separate storage location. But now I can't move any app to the SD card. Any ideas how I can move apps to the SD card or am I just stuck with one or the other?

as i mentioned in your other threads.......if you have set up the card as internal(phone), your phone will not recognize the card as an actual card. your phone only sees the card as internal storage like it is the phone's storage. you can't use the card as internal and external at the same time.

So, I switched the SD card back to internal storage. Is there a way to tell if a file is on the phone storage or the SD card? Also with camera, is there a way to see the pics are being stored to the SD card?

no....not if you set up the card as internal. if that is done, then it is on the card. you kind of have to trust the phone. just keep in mind any reading and writing that needs to be done will be done on the card. this will wear out the card much faster and you will run the risk of the card getting corrupted at some point. there is only so much wear and tear that a card can handle.....so make sure you back up regularly to your computer.

this is why i never recommend using the card as internal.

Your device will always show SD card, which is the same as phone storage...
Now that you understand this, IF YOU INSERT A EXTERNAL SD CARD, CHOOSE EXTERNAL STORAGE, OR EXTERNAL SD CARD...
I'm not understanding why you want to move apps in the first place, 32gb as is, is a good amount of storage. Here's my setup:
I'VE GOT THE SAME PHONE AS YOU. 32gb internal (also shown as SD card)....
128gb external SD card.
I keep all of my apps (only) on the internal storage....
I MOVE all of my photos, video, and documents to the external storage.
Apps really do not take up that much space in your internal storage...

Dannydet, how is your battery life on the G7 Power? It advertises 3 day battery life. Years ago, I had a TracFone Android phone that also had a 5000 mAh battery. That phone I could go a week or more between charges. This G7 power so far can only go about 22 hours before it's dead. It's long enough most of the time, but just curious why I'm not getting close to 3 days. Usually when I check battery usage, the highest usage app is usually Facebook at about 3% usage. Not much.

Hi , I'm new to these forums
and like the poster I have trouble now moving apps to my SD card.

My previous phone a Samsung Galaxy Tab A on Android 5 allowed certain apps to move but not all, but now I have a new
Alcatel 3L 2020 on Android 10, none can move. Also I don't get the option to format SD card as internal either.

Also I know I have 64gb internal storage but just wondered if it's individual phones that stop it or the operating system and if there is any unrooted app out there than can do this.

Thanks in advance .

Let me work for you but some people like to play games especially these days or they're using it for homeschooling and now need to have different apps that they normally wouldn't download and game apps especially visual ones take up a lot of space. I have that issue myself between photo apps and games I have to have the SD card and I have a 64GB internal memory to which I added another 64 gigabytes. My issue now is the apps that I have migrated data from external are there however the newer apps I've downloaded all seem to store on the SD card and they don't want to move back the button won't work to start the migration of data from an individual app back to internal storage nor will it now migrate data from All Storage back to the internal in my case I think I'm going to have to delete the two apps I want to transfer back to internal eject the card download the apps they'll be stored on internal and then reinstall the card
