I am using color os , realme pro 2 android phone, .nomedia file is getting automatcally deleted in Telegram folder , what could be the reason ? There is no any scheduler apps installed which can automatcally clean. If i put .nomedia file in telegram folder , the file will be also deleted.

Please suggest.

Why do you want the no media file to begin with? It prevents you from from saving or viewing files...

Isn't the purpose of .NOMEDIA files to tell Android and apps to ignore certain folders, that you don't want it scanning and indexing. You might not want it looking for and showing pictures, videos, music etc. from certain folders.

Color OS is made by Oppo, and some versions have a rather nasty "cleaning" process in it, that might be deleting the .NOMEDIA files. Which is a version of Clean Master by Cheetah Mobile, and it really is nasty.

See if there's anything in the settings for disabling it.

Are you sure it's deleted? It could be that the browser you are using to view files is set not to display hidden files and, by the 'nix file naming convention, putting "." in front of a folder or file means it's hidden.
Yes I am sure , it has been deleted because I am using file manager which can show hidden files.there is no any setting for auto deletion or auto clean in settings of the phone , it was okay few days ago but it suddenly started. I checked running processes and not found any abnomal app ,

I checked in Antivirus software, there is no any settings to disable antivirus, I had tried to put .nomedia file in another test folder, it is not getting deleted, only the problem with telegram folder, reinstall app and also deleted whole folder and reinstalled from scratch the app, but still problem persists...

I checked in Antivirus software, there is no any settings to disable antivirus, .....

If whatever antivirus app you installed doesn't permit you to control it, you should definitely uninstall it. The issue with a user having only limited control over pre-installed apps is troubling but if you installed this app and you can't limit its actions, you don't want it on your phone. Go into your apps menu, tap on the 'Force stop' button, then find and tap on the 'Clear data' button -- that removes the app's configuration and settings files along with its cache. Then tap on Uninstall.

Hi.
I had the same problem on my POCO F2 Pro with MIUI 12.0.3.

I solved the problem by disabling the "gallery" application pre-installed with Titanium Backup (I used another open-source).
After creating the ".nomedia" file, when opening the integrated gallery application, it scans the folders and systematically deletes the ".nomedia" and other ".nosearch" files.

Welcome to Android Forums, fikhatri!

It seems clear to me that the source of the problem is Telegram. Read this Tweet from its developer and see if it helps clear things up.

Absolutely not, I have been using Telegram for a long time on several smartphones and only recently had the problem on my POCO F2.
The problem is due to the gallery application integrated into MIUI.
