In the Gmail mobile app, how does one hide Recent Labels, Starred, Important, Snoozed and Scheduled?

They hinder quick access to the labels I want to see, I don't use them, thanks!

About a year ago people were complaining that Google removed "Recent Labels":

Have you tried adjusting your labels on Desktop? Do you want to still show these recent labels on Desktop and only hide them for mobile? I played around with it a bit but it seems that you'll have to make the adjustement on desktop.

I've had them hidden from my Desktop labels for years. It goes Inbox, Sent, Drafts, All Mail and Trash, then the labels begin.

Not wanting to begrudge anyone those 'stock' labels, just hoping that hiding them in the App version is possible too and I'm just not finding how to do it.

Thanks for trying though.

I think you can completely remove most labels via the web, and those changes should trickle down to mobile, *if* you do not care to have them at all. But I think it is one or the other, can't be different on different platforms.

I'm sorry, I should have explained in my original post that I had long ago tweaked the label visibility in the desktop version. The settings did not carry over.

Ahh, sorry about that. Yea, even though there is a 'manage labels' option ion app, all it lets you do is sync them or not. Seems to stupid to not be able to hide them! You can leave feedback in the gmail app and let them know you want that ability. If enough people leave feedback in app Google will make changes. It really is the best way to influence them (if it's possible).
